2 weeks Post-op

I everyone, I'm new here. I am 2 weeks post op and am on the soft foods stage. I have been SO emotional lately. So emotional that I ended up crying while grocery shopping yesterday. I'm scared that I made a mistake, while deep down I know I didn't. I'm afraid that I will be eating Greek yogurt and eggs for the rest of my life. I'm struggling with my protein and water intake and I'm just hoping that I made the best decision. Any advice would be fantastic. I just want to know that I'm not alone and that this will get better.

I went to the grocery store for the first time since surgery yesterday. I was very sad walking through the produce section. I miss my brussels sprouts, broccoli, asparagus, you name it. I had to just kick myself and keep my eye on the prize, which is better health, moving around without pain, and maybe even cute clothes!

It just takes time and patience to get through these first couple of months. Before you know it you will be able to eat decent meals in appropriate portions and will feel so much better about yourself.

Just be kind to yourself and have a Merry Christmas!

you say soft but I'm assuming you meant like mushy, pureed. I'm only a month out but I ate so much greek yogurt I refuse to touch it anymore.. Try cottage cheese and egg salad and chicken salad. I ate a lot of that during my week of all that. I still eat cottage cheese. I love it. You didn't make a mistake. it will pay off. Being emotional is part of it though. If you think you are emotional now wait til you hit a stall. I stalled after my first week. I think I'm still in a stall but I refuse to weigh because it caused me too much anxiety.
