  1. You are doing awesome! We started around the same time. I've only lost 7 pounds but I'm down a clothes size. I think our surgeon were injured/sick around the same time too, if I remember right. My surgeon recovered a month sooner than expected so he's doing my surgery. I was going to have to go outta state to have surgery if he didn't get better by December. I hope you and the new doc have good chemistry and your appointment goes well. 45 pounds...get it girl!
  2. Congrats! Do you know your date yet?
  3. I have about 150 pounds to lose. My surgery is on Nov 19th. All of you guys are doing wonderful. I'm inspired
  4. What kind of pre op diet are you doing? I start on Tuesday.
  5. Its crazy how many of us are on the 19th! We may need to start our own thread.
  6. The VP of my department had the surgery years ago. He tried to scare me by telling me about certain foods making him sick and multiple admissions for strictures and other stuff. I know he has had issues. He told me not to trust any surgeon in Alaska and to go to the lower 48. But then followed that by make sure you live close to your surgeon because other surgeons wont touch you if you have complications. Blah blah blah... he's s great person and very knowledgeable about healthcare but I think he just know enough about me to know this is a good choice for me.
  7. Amen! I was worried at first about if this was the right thing to do but God makes all things possible. Congratulations on your success!
  8. There's a forum for rny complication support. There are stories of complications.

  14. Thank you. I got my surgery date today for November 19th. I'm really nervous about the gyn part of the surgery. I will message you. I only plan on taking 2 weeks off. I have basically a desk job.
  15. I just my insurance approval. I finished all of my requirements on October 8th. Submitted to insurance on the 24th approved on the 29th and a date today. So I guess I waited 21 days. I can't believe it happened so fast. I started the process on July so this is crazy fast.
  16. I was planning for a December date but I got the call today that it will be on November 19. So I guess its time to get to know all of you! I'll tell you a little bit about me. I started this journey on July 10th. I currently weigh 294 down from 314. I'm proud mommy to 4 great kids. I work in healthcare quality but I plan to change careers after I reach my goal weight. My husband isn't all the way on board with rny but I think he's just afraid for my safety. Plus I don't think he's ready to make changes to his diet. I look forward to catching up and getting in with this group.
  17. I got the call today! Surgery date November 19th. Wow! This is really going to happen!
  18. Contact your insurance and ask for the approval criteria. You should be able to find out the coverage percentage also. If they can't help you be persistent until they find someone who can.
