  1. Glad you're having a great time! You've inspired me to bathing suit shop for my September cruise! Although my weight's coming off slowly (only 59 pounds in 3 months) I'm losing inches due to exercise & afraid if I wait till August the suits will be picked over!
  2. Three months today, down 59 pounds!! Yay! Eating remains challenging as I still have trouble with solids, but I'm sure it will get better. Weight loss is only about 2-3 pounds a week-slow & steady wins the race. I'm up to 40 minutes on the recumbent bike. It's at a slowish pace but still such an improvement. I have MS so fatigue, leg weakness (I walk w/ a walker) & balance will always be challenges. BUT 40 minutes on an exercise bike is so huge for me. Congrats to fellow losers!! Lets continue kicking a__!!
  3. 3 months out. I had a piece of pumpernickel bread toasted, tsp sugar free orange marmalade spread, and a quarter cup 2% (can't stand the fat free) cottage cheese on top of the jam.
  4. Chicken is really dense & thus hard for a lot of us post WLS, me included. The only way I can avoid vomiting it is either ground chicken/turkey in a sauce or chicken/turkey loin shredded & put into soup, like 98% fat free cream of chicken or just stock.
  5. I'm still following everyone's progress. I'm down 53 pounds at 11 weeks! Only losing about 2-3 pounds/week now, but I'm attributing that to adding lean muscle with my cardio & weights. Not doing too well w/ advancing to an all solids diet. I vomit several times a week after solids. I'm supposed to be aiming for a 1000/cals day weight loss program till goal. Most days I struggle hit 800. But meeting my fluid & protein goals-at least when I don't vomit. Back to work Monday. Hope I can keep up my exercise. I have MS & even on the best of days, fatigue is a huge problem, so I worry that I'll be so tired from working that I won't make the gym. Glad most of us are doing so great!!
  6. Most days I am just shy of 800 cals. I always make my water & protein goals. I'm supposed to be aiming for 1000 cals/day, but my healing has been slow & at 11 weeks my pouch remains a bit swollen. I'm satisfied, though, and not hungry. Weight loss now only 2-3 pounds/week but I'm doing cardio daily & weights every other day & have muscles I've not had since my 20s so I'm OK with slow. 11 weeks=52 pounds; down 3 sizes in clothes & 1 size in shoes.
  7. Congrats!! Glad the trip went well. Losing that much while away is an achievement cause traveling can be challenging.
  8. I've been taking mucinex & it's been fine on the pouch.
  9. Surgery 3/11/13. PRE op 282. Today 233. Down 49 pounds.
  10. Since calcium needs food for absorption, I take a 500 mg calc with each meal, B12 3X a week in the morning, my 2 Flinstone completes at bedtime.
  11. I have MS & had RNY 3/11/13. Wondering how you ladies are doing?
  12. Have you thought about getting a WLS cookbook? I bought 2 & they are a huge help.
  13. I find that the egg whites egg beaters are easier to tolerate.
  14. These sound yummy but I'm worried about the fat content, even with part skim ricotta!
  15. OMG I FEEL YOUR PAIN!!! I've had weeks & weeks of relentless diarrhea. Can't be away from a bathroom. To make it to my 2week post op I had to not have any Protein shake that morning. I'm 5 weeks today. It's a bit better now that I'm using Fiber powder (Target brand since Benefiber is off the market). I'm trying 3 doses a day, and its helping. You can put it in anything, solid, liquid, hot, cold. Might be worth a try.
  16. Although I lost 32 pounds in the first 3 weeks (I think due to nausea making me unable to tolerate shares & horrendous diarrhea), I've slowed to 1-2 pounds a week. I exercise everyday. Trying to stay positive. I can see that I'm toning, and I'm moving easier.
  17. Can't wait till next Monday when I can start weights & resistance work. Pool walked 30 minutes & 15 minutes of more aerobics with a flotation belt. 333 cals burned. Cals avg about 650-750/day. But weight loss remains slow.
  18. At 2.5 weeks I started water aerobics, yoga, and pool walking.
  19. I am 5 weeks tomorrow, down 34 pounds. I do water aerobics 2X a week, chair yoga 2X a week, and walk 30-60 the other days depending on my energy level. After exercise I'm pretty wiped out for the rest of the day!
  20. Down 30 pounds since surgery 3/11/13, but the scale has not moved in days, and I'm trying to remain calm. I'm getting in all my protein & water, and my calories are running 500-600, w/ the goal of about 800 per my NUT. I have multiple sclerosis & have not exercised, literally, in years. This week I started low impact water aerobics & chair yoga. Could I be building muscle already? Or am I just being too much of a nut about the scale? I'm trying not to be crazed but failing!!
  21. 3weeks post op, down 30 pounds, & not cleared for any sort of weight or resistance training. But, yesterday did 45 minutes of water aerobics & today, an hour of chair yoga. I have MS and haven't been able to exercise like this in a long time. 30 pounds makes a difference. Tomorrow back to water aerobics.
