I know what everyone is going through, I'm only on day 2 of my liquid diet and I'm dying. I'm trying to sit in my office and work but all I can think about is food and how much I really want to eat. It has given me alot of awareness about the role of food in my life and how important it is...I look forward to any opportunity to eat. It's a major mental issue that I have to conquer if I am to be successful in this journey.
I have already cheated, a friend of mine called me to go out last night and since I hardly ever see her, I accepted. That was foolish because there is no way to go to a restaurant and not eat. I had some chicken and I actually felt uncomfortably stuffed when leaving..even though I could have easily eaten that amount before. I'm not beating myself up over it because a) I still have 13 days to do well before surgery, I learned that there are reasonable limits to my willpower and attempting to go beyond them is tempting fate and c) I am going to have to go into hibernation in regards to a social life for the next 6 weeks. I'll have to come up with some excuse for my friends as I am not telling them about the surgery but going out has to be off the table for now...otherwise, it's too hard. I've already started dropping hints at the office about a new healthy lifestyle as an explanation for why I am suddenly skipping the cafeteria.
This is easily one of the hardest things I have ever had to do and it's so helpful to be able to read posts from other people who are going through it the same time as I am. Good luck to all!
