  7. Feeling great! I had complications after surgery, but after all that was done with everything has been going well. Tons of energy! Still losing about 10lbs a month...I am super happy with that! I just need my mind to catch up to my body! Lol! Best of luck on your surgery! HW 229, SW 214, CW 160 RNY 3/14/13
  8. I am so sorry you are going through this. I had a tough time with my surgery as well. I had surgery 3/14 and within a week I was back in the hospital. They found a leak where the old and new stomach met. Needless to say I was on tpn for 14 days, in the hospital for 16. Its very lonely in the hospital, especially when you have no roommate and people just didnt have time to really visit. I am now almost 5 months out. It was a hard few months after getting discharged. Around the 3 month mark I started feeling 100% better. The weight loss was slow due to the extra long stay, but I am on track and the surgeon is happy. Oh and as hard as it was with be complications and all after seeing what it has done for me I would absolutely go through it all again. hang in there I know it's tough. Hope they get you out of there soon! HW 229, SW 214, CW 160 RNY 3/14/13
  9. I pray this happens to me! I would like to wait a year but if it happens after all the fertility and iui's I've been through I'd take it! Next step is IVF :/ HW 229, SW 214, CW 160 RNY 3/14/13
  10. My main reason for seeing a psychiatrist is the way I think about food and my body after surgery. I'm proud you took that step to call, it's the hardest one. If you ever want to chat I'm at Kraney@aol.com HW 229, SW 214, CW 160 RNY 3/14/13
  11. The best suggestion I can give is to just stick with your commitments to lose the weight. If you happen to fall off the wagon with a not so good food choice, correct it at your next meal or snack. Its tough when your body is detoxing off sugar, caffeine, soda, etc. it takes a few days just to get all of that out of your system. What worked for me was a high Protein low carb diet. I had a shake for breakfast, string cheese for snack, either a shake or lean cuisine for lunch, and chicken with Beans or broccoli for dinner. It's very important to get your Water in as well. You can always use My Fitness Pal which is an iPhone and android app to log your food. That way you see how many grams of protein and carbs and calories you are getting. I know you can do it! 12. I'm 4 1/2 months out. HW 229, SW 214, current 160, surgery date 3/14 HW 229, SW 214, CW 160 RNY 3/14/13
  13. I didn't have a drain after surgery until a week after they put an accordion drain in for a leakage problem and that stayed in about a month. Hurt bad getting it taken out for just a few seconds, then it just felt weird coming out. HW 229, SW 214, CW 160 RNY 3/14/13
  14. Homemade chili. HW 229, SW 214, CW 160 RNY 3/14/13
  15. I have PCOS and actually just started my first period since getting out of the hospital. With the exception of the one I had in the hospital during surgery and for my entire 16 day stay! This one has been horrible! Cramping, clotting, you name it. From reading on other posts some people do get regular with the weight loss, while others still have issues. I've had pcos since around 15 and even at my low weights till had issues. I cross my fingers it gets cured along with my infertility! I'm gonna give my body a year to get itself back to normal. Best of luck to you. HW 229, SW 214, CW 160 RNY 3/14/13
  16. Congratulations!! By the way you look GREAT! HW 229, SW 214, CW 160 RNY 3/14/13

  19. My motivation is my family. I want to be healthy again before I am 40.
  20. We've all been there. It certainly does get depressing at points. For myself I was still on liquids at two weeks out and ended up back in the hospital for another 16 days after that. So I was on liquids for about two months. And for 14 of the 16 days back in the hospital I only had food and most liquids through my iv. It was also hard for me to move onto the other stages of puréed and then soft foods. I finally got back to real food at about 3 months out. As far as other people eating in front of me..I just couldn't handle it! If hey wanted fast food they couldn't have it around me. Obviously I was very selfish with that, but ultimately it saved some of my sanity. Feeling bigger after surgery is normally due to all the iv fluids they push in you at the hospital. I felt like I was gonna pop the first and second time I came home. Hang in there the journey gets much better. I'm 4 1/2 months out and would do it all over again even with the complications. HW 229, SW 214, CW 160 RNY 3/14/13
  21. I still weigh everything at 4 1/2 months out. I still do not get the hungry or full feelings. As long as you do it consistently it never seems like a big deal, just normal. HW 229, SW 214, CW 160 RNY 3/14/13
  22. Every pound counts! I love to see all the "loser" stories! Every time I lose a pound I want to scream and shout! I am 4 1/2 months out and down 70lbs. Never ever did I think that would happen! Keep fighting those pounds! Hope you are able to get your second appointment soon! HW 229, SW 214, CW 160 RNY 3/14/13
  23. Something you might want to try before drinking your shakes is papaya enzymes. I like the ones from Walmart. I take 3 of them about 15-20 mins before drinking my shake. They seem to help me with digesting shakes. HW 229, SW 214, CW 160 RNY 3/14/13
