I also have Tricare, however I am having my RNY done at a military hospital. I asked for a referral from my PCM in January. I only had to attend an informational/labs meeting in January, and attend one support group meeting. My surgery is scheduled for march 15. The doctor who did our informational meeting told us that each military base has different requirements. Some bases require 3 months of support/ nutritional meetings, and some 6 months. I guess I got lucky to be by this base.
  6. Great job! You are looking great! Keep up the hard work! It's inspiring to see the changes that can happen ( I'm still pre-op).
  7. Good luck on the diet! I start mine on Friday. I am lucky that it is not all liquid, just have to stay under 1000 calories daily.
  8. Crossing my fingers! Good luck!
  9. I hope everything works out for you real soon.
  10. Exciting! Best of luck!
  11. I think we are all nervous at some point. Mine is scheduled in two weeks and I am already nervous!! Good luck with your surgery Wednesday!
  12. I am scheduled for surgery 3/14. I previously committed to attending a function 2 weeks after surgery. it will be a 6 hour drive and I will be there for about four days. I am traveling by vehicle and just wondering if anyone has traveled that soon after surgery? Any tips on traveling? I'm not worried about attending the function itself as I can rest in a room whenever needed. Plus I will have a refrigerator available for my use for protein drinks, etc. I am more worried about the drive itself. :/
