  1. It is so nice to hear a happy story! I am 100% sure I will feel the same way after my surgery in April. I am so ready and prepared for what is to come. Congrats on changing your life!
  2. I have a catalog that has both WonderSlim and BariWise products; shakes, drinks etc. Has anyone tried either of these? How are they?
  3. I use sugar free packets. I was not a big water drinker, but now drink all day using these. WalMart has a huge selection and is much cheaper than spending over a dollar on one.
  4. You very very lucky in being approved early. When I saw your post, I got excited thinking maybe this could happen to me as well! I called my Bariatric office this morning to see if they would submit my claim early. I was told that they wait the full six months to ensure they have all of the proper and required paperwork that the insurance company is looking for. She explained it to me by saying that the insurance company WANTS to deny every claim so they dont have to pay. If we submit all of the proper information, and PROVE that it is medically necessary, they have a harder time trying to deny. She also said the appeal process can take longer than just completing my last two months. I think there should be NO waiting period for people with severeco-morbidities, such as my extreme spinal stenosis. I have seen TWO spine surgeons that said "yes, you need back surgery, but you must lose a big amount of weight first." I am beyond FRUSTRATED with all of this, including myself. All I want is to be pain free. I thought it was worth a try, but no luck for me! Hope the time goes fast!
  5. Congrats! Hope you continue to do great! Can't wait to hear more about the experience.
  6. It is almost here! I so wish I was in your position, instead of having 2 months to wait yet. Best of luck to you, and I will be watching for post surgery posts. I am so grateful for this site. I am learning a lot!
  7. Welcome! I am new here as well, and I can tell you that I am so glad that I found this site. Sorry to hear about your dad. That cannot be easy. I am looking for a surgery date in late April or early May. I am using this time to learn as much as I can so I know what to expect. Good luck to you in your journey! I'm sure I will see you here!
  8. Check out this topic online. I have seen some examples online of what you should write. You may find some good information.
  9. I have also heard that about the lap band. I have seen several posts on other sites in where people have had a lot of trouble with it slipping. I have read that the sleeve can leak due to the whole side of the stomach being stapled once they remove a portion. The rny also can have complications. It is such an important thing for me to have done, but a little scary as well. Thanks for the replies!
  10. I am new here and hoping I am doing this right! I am on the fourth of six months pre-op. At my last appointment, the surgeon said he was shooting for the end of April for my surgery date! I am still undecided on which surgery to go for, by gastric bypass is in the lead so far. If anyone can share their thoughts, it would be great. My reason for WLS Is my back. I will most likely need surgery in the very near future per my back specialist and need to lose a significant amount of weight first. I was 340 when I started this journey and am now at 304. Any thoughts?
