Afraid to run!
Hi Pam, I had never run before but I downloaded an app called C25K (couch to 5k) and it trains you for running 5K, I am on week 3 and feel amazing.. I just registered for my first marathon that will happen in November and I am super excited! I strongly recommend the app, it works with intervals, however I do walk/run outside, not on the treadmill and it works perfect for me. Don't be afraid, you can do it, but I do recommend either the app or some guided training so you don't over do it. Good luck and keep me posted on your progress.

4 months post op -- soooo happy!
I really don't remember how much I'd lost at a month, but I've been a steady loser, I have been working out since week 3 post op, and now that I've increased the workouts so has the weight loss, but as SoccerMomma says, be proud and happy for every pound you lose. I love this forum but I honestly try to stay away from the negative vibes, so be proud, happy and encourage others when needed!!

help hair loss
Hair and Nails, capsules sold at Wal-Mart and GNC. Zinc is supposed to avoid hair loss, they were too much for my pouch, I could not tolerate zinc, but HAIR & NAILS have been working fine.

Unjury products
I only use UNJURY protein powder, I order directly from their website, I agree with deaddemmama, you should order samples fist, UNJURY has a great starter kit which I ordered before surgery and now I buy their containers all the time. I never use them on hot items because if the temperature is not right it tastes HORRIBLE. I tried the unflavored once on oatmeal, yuckkkk!,it was probably too hot, they actually send you a thermometer with the sample pack. Anyway, I use mine as breakfast (shakes) and sometimes I'll use the strawberry sorbet mixed with lemonade as an afternoon snack. They all have 21g of protein per scoop (unjury ones).

4 months post op -- soooo happy!
Yesterday was my month-aversary, I am 4 months post op and down 70 lbs!!! I am beyond happy with the results so far. I not only fit into my jeans, I can put them on and off without unzipping them, LOL, so yes, it is time to do a LITTLE shopping as I am not yet at my goal weight, I still have 45 lbs to lose. I saw my surgeon yesterday and he is also very happy with my results so far. I am also working out, and to keep myself motivated, I registered for my first ever marathon, it is a 5K run, it is the COLOR ME RAD marathon, it will happen on November 9 and I am VERY excited!!! I downloaded a fabulous app that helps you train for the 5k marathon, I am feeling the benefits already. I had a hard time exercising after surgery because I have a bad back, however now that the weight is coming off, I feel really good when I am walking/jogging and the lbs are dropping faster with the workouts . For those of you who are about to begin your journey I can tell you it is the best decision I have ever made in my life, my only regret is not doing it sooner. Attached pictures to show progress so far... left is 2 weeks before surgery, right is last sunday. Blessings to everyone! Marisela

Protein shake ideas
I only use UNJURY protein powder, it does not taste bad at all. They have chocolate, vanilla, strawberry sorbet, chicken soup and unflavored. The only one I did not buy a container for is the chicken soup, the rest I've gone through several containers. The strawberry sorbet I mix with lemonade, the rest with milk. They have many ideas of how to mix, I stick to milk and occasionally frozen fruit for the unflavored one. I highly recommend it. You do have to buy online.

2 months post-op - unhappy
Are you taking your protein shakes???, I've noticed that the more I eat, the more I lose, of course it has to be small meals but frequently, like yog for snack, and I always have a protein shake for breakfast. I added a protein shake as a snack (in between lunch and dinner) and I noticed I started losing a little more.

Hmm how much have you lost
