    has anyone...

I'm also 2 years and 4 months out and need 70 to reach goal 20 of that is regain...I downloaded this app site so I can read some advise as well but so far it looks like most here are newbies but thats ok since I need to get back to basics and I need to get back to the start...My downfall has been many things combined that added up to the regain..I did very well with my vitamin and protein intake before and after surgery after 5/6 weeks I had severe stricture that had to be balloned out twice with a third treatment that I never followed through on because of the pain after the second treatment and I was afraid that they would stretch out my stoma to much...so once this occured I struggled with my protein intake and my vitamin intake....also because I never went back for the 3rd stricture treatment I felt like my food was stuck all the time so I started to drink with all my meals and this is a big giant No No for us but in my head I thought I was correcting a symptom of the stricture when in fact the stuck feeling is a side effect from our whole surgery and is meant to be that way, this went on for the first 9 months after surgery...also I never began a serious excersise program, I am now just beggining one with 45 minute walks 3 times a week if I can do 2 months of this and push up to an hour and 4 days I will join Curves by that time everyone who joined for their New Year resolutions will be tampering off....So then right before my year aniv my father fell ill and I had to leave out of the country to go care for him in Mexico, I was with him for 2 months within that time I lost 20 pounds...Unforunatly my father passed away and I was either in shock and greiving that once I got back to the U.S I lapsed in everything vitamins, protein, my regular medication any outdoor activity I was so far behind getting my household back in order my bills and my fathers estate my doctors appointments once I was forced to deal with everything I finally got to my year aniv surgery group appoitnment but it was already past a year, I was the only person in my group who was a year and a half out...once I got my labs back I was low on protein and b vitamins...I suspect out of depression and stress I started drinking diet soda and junk food with tons of carbs this has resulted in the 20lb weight loss to the 20lb regain....I was searching for online info on how to rekick start the weight loss and one of the sites I found mentioned the no drinking rule and for me I think this is where my main downfall has been...I'm turning my food into baby food when I drink while I eat this is why I am able to eat so much more than what we are supposed to...online they call this slushy/slurry food....I have cut out the soda except crystal light or vitamin zero and the majority of my carb intake I'm trying to stay under 20grams per day that is either one medium tortilla or one slice of bread...(a good read is the curves book)....I'm desperatly trying to stick to the no drinking 30 minutes before or 30 minutes after but it is hard!!!! I sometimes have to take a few sips of water but I will have to cut this out as well...I did this for 2 weeks and lost 4lb now I need to just keep the momentum going...I will look up on my laptop where I found the info and post it here it was a very helpful website...I like obesityhelp but sometimes people on there go on the attack so I dont post to much on there but I do have my profile on there with before and after pictures that need to get updated with my 2 year mark photos except I forget my user name, I had to redo my profile after I kept getting harrased from a member...anyway I wish u luck on your back to basic restart

    Premier Protein (Costco)

Our nutritionist recommends them also they are the better tasting of them all (most are gross) its not to sweet either most are loaded with sugar...I try to have one a day almost 2 years out...plus a premium protein bar
  5. Go to Obesityhelp and read all the info on Dr. Sauceda...He has a huge following with awesome result/testimonials and patients who are proud to show their pictures of their results there and on FB..they are great for support and give awesome details of what to expect before during and after your procedures...I had a consult with him last year in Las Vegas...His practice is in Monterrey Mexico...for one single procedure done here I can get six done with him for almost the same price...the price includes his clinic stay the hospice/hotel(15-17 days)stay, air fair reimbursement (4 anything over $10,000.), anesthesia, daily nurse visit and care..For my personal procedures he said he would do a total lower body lift, breast lift (w/out implants if I wanted them cost would be $1000, more) arm reduction, leg lift total cost $17,000. With a mini face lift upper body lift at later date for $10,000. I still have about 70lb to lose and to fill up my piggy banks....His wife is his anthestesioligist (sorry about the misspell) and sat in with him on the consult both super sweet people made me comfortable right away...good luck on your journey

I had stricture at 4 to 5 weeks out I could not eat or drink without feeling sick tell your gastric bypass nurse or doctor asap not sure how far out u are though so cant be sure of it...
  7. Im 2 years out and have pretty much stayed away from citrus fruits I went overboard yesteday and ate one after another at work...I work at a grocery store and was so happy to buy them on sale but when I got home I was so sick I felt like a brick was sitting in the pit of my stomach with bad cramping...I tried inducing the vomits twice but everything was pretty much way down the tunnel to come back up but saliva...I took pepto and that induced the vomits again...I finally fell asleep from being wiped out..today I'm afraid of any solid food so stuck to soft food still feel sore in my stomach not sure if its from the tangerines or from straining from all the useless wretching..anyway my question is this are we not able to process the memranes of the citrus? And yes I know next time I will limit myself to only 1 tangerine...unless I develope an adverse reaction from just looking at them tooo bad since I bought 2 boxes of cutie pies

    Regain problem solved

Last Sept. Marked 2 years out for me I weighed 357lb at my referral appt...I lost a total of 50 pre op w/100 post op with 20lb regain...When my father fell ill I lost 30 but regained the 20 when he passed and I'm sure it was from greiving and depression but now after a year of his passing I need to refocus...I'm at 217 now..I would like to be between 150-160, I'm 5ft 8 so depends on how I look...I don't want to look sick if I lose to much...I had stricture at 3 months out and had the balloon procedure done twice in those first 6 months to stretch out the scar tissue and never felt better while eating anything so I began to drink with my meals to make that stuck feeling go away thinking since I had the stricture problem and never went back for the final procedure that I was forever going to have that food stuck feeling but drinking with meals would make it all better it DID!!! BUT this is why I have the weight regain I'm pretty much making my food into slushies online they call it slurry and I was keeping my stomach empty...3 weeks ago I started to do the 30 minutes before and after my meals before I drink I'll take a few sips if I have to but that is all...I had had been snacking on carbs and drinking diet soda I cut it all out..I've been keeping carb intake below 20grams no sodas only once in a while vitamin zero...2 I've dropped 5lb so far....so now to keep the momentum going...thank u for reading my post
