  1. I've heard a lot of stories about them slipping or coming loose. My dr also said they can cause scar tissue. I just hate the idea of a foreign object stuck in me. The same goes with the Norplant. My boyfriend and I need to discuss this this weekend. Maybe I should just get my tubes tied. Or he could get a snip job lol
  2. If you're taking food with you, Campbell's cream soups in the to go sizes, baby foods (if you don't hate them), protein shakes, Greek yogurts
  3. Going to try the Depo, just have to wait until after surgery. Still not comfortable with the idea of something implanted in me, including Norplant. If the Depo doesn't go well I'll consider other options. He didn't say the IUD would be impossible, just difficult and a higher risk for scar tissue.
  4. Not an option for me, I've never been pregnant.
  5. My PCP said my best options would be the Nuca Ring or Depo shots, or tubiligation. I chose Depo. He sent a prescription to the pharmacy and wants me to start tomorrow. I called my surgeons office to make sure it's ok with the upcoming surgery, they said they don't really recommend anything but Norplant for me. She said Depo can cause decreased Calcium. She didn't say I couldn't take it, and I don't see why I can't just take extra calcium supplements, since I'll be taking them anyway. I don't want Norplant. She just confused me more than ever. Please, tell me positive things about Depo. I don't care about the issue with having kids after, we probably won't want children anyway. I just need to know this is ok to do.
  6. Really? They told me I should take Prilosec or something similar. I just assumed it was for acid reflux. Why do they tell you to take it then?
  7. I was thinking of getting some rather than pureeing everything.
  8. Wow I only just found this thread! I'm from Dartmouth, and I work in Raynham. I have Dr. Streeter and my surgery will be at Tobey. I'm surprised there so many people in this area on here!

How long should I take to wean myself off coffee before surgery? I don't want to give it up too soon!
  10. Just scheduled today for Feb. 27th!!!
  11. Ohhh this feels weird, kinda surreal. 2/27 is my date. I don't know whether to cry or shake or scream.....excited though
  12. Been on them since Dec. 21st and he just doubled my dosage. It's just to help me lose the 20 lbs before surgery because I was having a lot of trouble on my own. My surgeon said as long as I stop them a week before surgery it's fine. I have noticed on the few days that I forgot to take it I was more hungry than when I take it.
  13. My NUT said you can include tuna and canned chicken as long as you get ALL the chunks out. Probably put it in a food chopper to make it easier. And of course make sure you chew it completely.
  14. The sagging skin scares the bejeezus out of me. But I keep trying to concentrate on how much healthier and thinner I'll be, and all the things I'll be able to do that I can't do now. It's worth it.
  15. I would say wait til the last minute, then order 2 sizes down from what you are at that point. They'll still be able to go down 2 more if needed. Do you get to pick your own dress in the selected color, or are all the bridesmaids wearing the same dress? If you can pick your own, pick something simple with clean lines, it can be taken in more than a detailed dress.
  16. Wow! I don't think I could go that long. Congrats! What was his reaction??
  17. Are baby foods good for after surgery? If you've tried any, which ones are good and which are not?
  18. Found them at CVS for $8 something
  19. Went to the cardiologist today. He didn't order any more tests (thank goodness). He did give me another months worth of the Phentermine to take until surgery. I just have to stop them at least a week before my surgery date. When I was leaving he took my chart with him and said he was going to write up my clearance right then, and fax it over to the surgeon. So I have to call them Monday to see if they got it. Yay!
  20. I think it's to help with digestion if something gets stuck.
  21. No, not weird. It depends on your medical history, and it also depends on your doctor. Some require it.
