This happened to me. When,I had the surgery, I had 150 pounds to lose to get to goal. now I have 70 to lose. I get so hung up on my scale numbers, moving slow that I don't see how far I've come. Congrats. It's a great feeling.

I have a few NSV's to share. I am 2 months out I lost a lot of weight before surgery. My total now is 110 pds lost. My shoe size went from a 10 to a 9. My scrubs for work were 4x and now is a size Large. I am now starting to shop in the misses dept instead of the Plus size dept. I just can't stop smiling I feel so good and am loving my life!!!!

I remember like it was yesterday feeling just like you! I had regrets and when I came on here to vent everyone said the same thing....it will get better, I didn't see it then, but after getting over that small bump in the road...everyone was right. I am here to tell you, it will truly get better...get your liquids in, walk and just continue to heal...I wish u luck and in the days to come you will help someone fresh out of surgery letting them know it does get easier! Good luck on your new life!

So those 34 pounds I was required to loose before my second appointment well they are officially gone!! I am down to 450!! I can't believe I actually did it! It's been a rough 8 weeks. I fell down a few times but I always got back up again. I am now waiting on the nurse to call me to see if I can get my second appointment. I don't have high hopes yet I figure the doctor is going to try to throw me another curve ball. But fingers and toes crossed and down on my knees praying that he lets me start the rest of the process. I'm so ready to get my date and start the rest of my new life!! Thank you to everyone here that has said kind words to me!! I really appreciate everything! I also want to thank everyone who posts here. I enjoying reading everyone's stories and advice. It really helps a newbie out on what to expect!

I've tried it. I only eat it in very small amounts and not often. Tastes like regular Pasta to me. It's the only kind I buy now.

I just looked it up and the nutritional facts are making me a little nervous. 41 grams of carbs minus 5 grams of Fiber. That equals 39 net carbs. They say there are 31grams of "protected" carbs. What exactly are "protected" carbs. I would personally stay away. : (. I miss Pasta.< /p>

I've got a friend that recommended it to me but she hasn't had surgery and I haven't tried it. I did have another friend mention summer squash and said it taste just like spaghetti and her family can't tell the difference so I'm going to try that first since its really a vegetable. I too love pasta!

Speak up for yourself! WLS is no walk in the park. Did you go thru all the pre-surgery emotional stress and now the permanent change of lifestyle to have a bunch of envious family members silence you? I think not!
Remember: you made this lifelong change to improve your health and your mind. Don't let others walk over you because you were courageous to change for the best.
Pleasing people will get you nowhere. It just gives them the courage to be meaner and uglier.

    It's easy.
You were the fat one. No matter what they could count on you being bigger than them. They could lose or they could gain but they would never be the fat one as long as you held up your part.
Now that you have decided to be a healthier you, they see you as not holding up their expectation of you.
It's like when people treat you badly for going back to school. "Look at so-and-so thinking they are better than us", people will say.
Their problem is not a "you" problem. Some people really hate change. Don't stop being happy about your successes. Only two things can happen, they get over themselves or they don't. And if they don't then you will just find other folks to spend the energy you use to spend on them.
Please don't think I was calling YOU fat. I'm just using it as an example.

Try using the crock pot and cook extras so you have left overs. You will find the money you save and more time for studying when you can just heat it up! Good luck in school! You can do it!

Preheat oven to 375°. Cut the squash in half length wise and scoop out all the seeds. Lay both halves face down on cookie sheet. Bake in preheated oven for 30-40 mins. When done use a fork to separate the strands, then scoop into a bowl.
You can serve it several ways. I like it w/a little butter, salt, and pepper, or w/grilled veggies, or w/pesto, or w/ground turkey, sauce, and Parmesan chz. I haven't had it since surgery. I'm nervous to try it.

    Hi y'all,
i wanted to put this out there and see what comes back.
We all talk about nutrition, formely know as food! our numbers and our ever decreasing weight.
How are things on the mental/ behavioral side? ive started to notice major changes. example i bought a pair of pants and shorts the next size down not because the fit (yet!!!) but because the were on sale and i know I WILL fit into them shortly. this i find amazing prior to this, lets say last year if clothes did not fit i would get in a pissy mood go home and get a pizza or some crap like that and lament on how fat i am !!! waaa waaa poor fat me. not amy more this is soooooo much more than a surgery its like being released from an overweight prison.
does anyone else have any experiences of changes in how you process emotions now??

Making some roasted jalapeños stuffed with fat free cream cheese, chive and onion, topped with a little crunchy bacon. The bacon is lean but it's my little cheat I was out of turkey bacon so hopefully it will be fine! Won't even be eating half a slice anyway! I love spicy food and it sits well with me I'm also cooking some tilapia blackened ahead of time for the week.
