    New and feel alone!

Thank you all so much! You must know from experience how much these kind words help!! I feel better just knowing that you are all out there! My lower back is achy today, and again with the diarrhea....but today I'm just going to focus on liquids and rest! I am able to eat full liquids today, so I'm excited about oatmeal for lunch! You are all so special, thank you!

    New and feel alone!

And I just love it how my husband was so great at the hospital when they were filling me with drugs and liquids, and now that we are home, he's gone right back to sitting on his a**!

    New and feel alone!

So basically all you are supposed to do all day is sip? I guess I have been sleeping too much or something!
  5. I am almost 4 days out of surgery and at home. The days at the hospital were great because everything was brought to me. Now that Im home I feel weak, gassy, like I can't stand up straight, and am not sure if Im eating enough. How often should I eat and how much? Can someone please tell me I haven't lost my mind and all the info I thought I had learned? I'm looking at the diet sheets, and just feel lost! Is my gut supposed to be so " gurgley" and rumbly feeling?? Please reassure me! Thanks!
  6. I am almost 4 days out of surgery. In the hospital I felt great, now at home I feel weak, gassy, like I might fall when walking! Can someone please let me know if this is ok, and also, how much and how often should I be eating?? I feel confused now that I'm home and just left to suffer and guess about everything!

  7. I am starting my 2-week liquid diet this Friday 12/21/12, and have RNY on 01/04/13!! I live in NE Arkansas, and will be having surgery about 2hours away in Little Rock with Dr. Mark Gibbs. I am 5'3" and at 250 as of now. I am super excited about this life change, and so grateful my TriCare covers me! I'm not really worried about the surgery itself, I've had a tough hysterectomy and gall bladder removed so I figure this surgery cant be much worse than those. I am mostly scared that I will be losing my best friend, aka Food! I eat for comfort, out of boredom, for fun, emotionally, for everything! So I'm worried I won't be good at dealing with the "head hunger" everyone speaks of! I am also not very good at menu planning, so I am pretty worried about food ideas, introducing new foods, and coming up with ideas to keep me full and not wanting junk food! Can someone give me some ideas for after my 6 days of post-op liquids? Soft, pureed, etc? How often do you eat daily? Explain to me more details of "Sip, Walk, Rest"-- is that all day everyday? How about how to measure your food? What tools do you use? And how do you introduce new foods? Sorry for so many questions, just hoping someone can tell me some good ways to deal and cope! Love this site and so glad to be here! Blessings to all! Vicki
  8. Thank you SO SO much for posting this! I was really beginning to get more nervous and scared by reading all the negatives!!! My surgery is 01/04/13 and I have to start on liquids this Friday for 2 whole weeks I am worried about the headaches I will get from being hungry, worried about ideas of what to eat and how to introduce new foods, but not worried about the actual surgery much at all. I've had an open hytsterectomy and gall bladder removal, so I'm hoping this will be a piece of cake in comparison! Anyone else want to input great stories or tell me about foods to try and how to introduce them? Love and thanks!

    New Here :)

I am new as well! Start my liquid diet on Dec.21st with surgery scheduled for January 4, 2013....and i'm almost more worried about no solids than I am the actual surgery! There are so many different tales of woe here on the site..... I cant decide if I should be scared or excited! I would love to hear some actual ideas of what you eat/drink throughout your day! What was your day like before the surgery on the liquid diet, and what is a typical day of meals for you now? I'm extremely worried about how much I'm going to grieve for food. Thank you all for being here!
