  1. Do you have some support in your corner? I'm pretty much doing this alone..my kids are around but not really involved...i rely on this site quite a bit..i live on a small community so there's no local support group! But I can do this! I'm ready to shed a lifetime of weight!
  2. Lol...oh well..whoever she is she looks like she's donE great! I'm 6 wks out (11/20)...I've lost 22 lbs and have been stalled for over 2wks...trying not to get discouraged...i just need to get somE excersize going...

  5. Yes...should be as lean as possible
  6. I'm struggling with getting out and walking...the weather is my excuse haha...I've always been a walker as my dog needs a walk every day but the last 2yrs my sons have been doing most of that for me as I was dealing with cancer treatment....but now I need to start again since I'm doing everything else to get my health back...no more excuses!
  7. I would suggest talking to your surgeon about checking your gallbladder before surgery...so many end up with gb issues shortly after rny and then havE to have another surgery...if I hadn't told my surgeon I was sure I was already having issues I doubt they would have checked it before hand....I'm not suggesting you will but it might be something you want to bring up to him...
  8. The dietician was thinking I should see her 6 months even tho my INS didn't require it but I was dealing with major gallbladder issues and had Just had an ultra sound done so I just told her I refused to go thru 2 surgeries and I was tired of being so sick..so she signed my release and I had surgery within 2wks...they took out my gbladder and did a hernia repair at the same time as my rny...5 huge gallstones..no wonder I was so sick!
  9. I didn't have any problems with the salad...had radish and carrots on it..i added some canned chicken and shredded moz cheese
  10. That's great! OncE you can get a glimpse of the Finnish line things move reallY fast! I can't believE I'm 6wks out already..the time since surgery has really gone fast
  11. Are you excited? Have you had to go thru allot to get here? I didn't have to do any pre surgery diet..only had to see dietician 2x and psych evaluation
  12. I see no one has been posting here..how is everyone doing? I'm about 6wks out now..doing ok..not losing as fast as I hoped but losing...need more excersize but its either too cold to go walk or too snowy(Minnesota)...as soon as my xmas tree comes down I can get my exc. Bike out since I'm not walking
  13. How are you doing VickI?
  14. How are you doing now?
  15. Yes but not that long...go get some papaya enzyme tablets...it helps break it up
  16. A little later it might sit ok...
  17. That sounds good...im not a tuna fan but I could do this! Maybe some tomato too...i had lettuce salad for the first time yesterday..yum
  18. That sounds good...I've been trying to find some small frozen dinner things to make since I'm alone quite a bit...I've never been much for that type of meal since I had 3 sons to cook for I usually never bought frozen food other than vegetables or pizza....so any recommendations of things o can get that aren't so high in carbs? I looked at the diet dinners like Atkins...they seem high in carbs and sodium...i tried one and it was gross.....how about potpies? Wonder about the protein in them
  19. Oj was one thing I was told to steer clear of but I'm not a big fan anyway...basicallY avoid any juice unless no sugar added...if you do have juice it should be watered down..can have vegetable juice tho....that's what I was told....
  20. Did they give a decent pain med? I was on a diladid drip(better than morphine in my book) for 3 days..then switched to loritab...i can't believe they sent you home already..especially if you're running a little temp! My heart really goes out to you...you've been thru a lot...it will get better little by little....keep an eye on that temp and get plenty of rest
