  2. i thought giving up coffee was MUCH harder
  3. My surgeons suggest no corn, peas or potatoes during the weight loss phase
  4. I love Syntrax - it’s low in carbs - zero sugar - and mixes easily with Water - flavors like koolaid - I give it two thumbs up. Some of the flavors are sold in sample packs - try before you buy - AND - try your Vitamin Store - if you have that chain where you live
  5. absolutely NO idea - I am pre-surgical and the office was kind enough to give this to me - this is the diet I get when I come home from the hospital - not bad eh? I stay in the hospital for 4 days - I hope that is a mistake and they mean up to 4 days - when I had a c-section I just about lost it after 2 in a hospital...
  6. I’m reading my “rules” and I see I can have ONE cup of coffee a day - woooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

  8. I heart the strawberry mousse it tasted good with water - but ice cold water - tasted like strawberry quick which i drank allot as a kiddo.
  9. this thread sounds very shame shame on you - Hey - I’m pre-surgical Eat what you can Eat what your NUT is ok with and don’t feel shamed by ANYBODY - you had that before - now is time for the new you to arrive develop and expand - are you loosing do you feel good let those things moderate your feelings about what your eating...none of us will ever be you - and visa versa. good luck.
  10. Think of it as time to prepare for your new life.
  11. they won’t even let me talk to the surgeons office until I satisfy this requirement - then I have a 3 hour surgeon appt - 8 pre-tests - and then we submit to insurance.
  12. I have to see my pcp and that's usually 45 I have to see a nut and that's an hour
  13. i <3 pharmacists - y’all do know more than the dr’s on this stuff.
  14. Does anyone know what the diff is btw matrix and regular? At the Vitamin Store (a chain here) it was $12 difference? I have been drinking that sky one forever - and loved it - and if you are a child of the 70’s you remember strawberry quick - and the strawberry mousse is to die for - even with Water... I LOVE Syntrex
  15. I have to go month to month - the appointment is 60 minutes - face to face - that’s for SIX months - so it could suck more...
  16. Call the pharmacy where you got it - pharmacists actually know more than Dr’s on meds and effects - my pharmacists wife had rny - so i’m set!
  17. http://www.wisegeek.com/what-are-the-different-codeine-side-effects.htm#lbimages
  18. That IS a side effect of going off of some meds - when my husband went off of vicoden (a few years back) he was up for days (it felt like forever) - so it’s totally possible that’s what’s going on. I’ve taken vicoden and codine with ZERO issues - so you might be sensitive like my husband. good luck!
  19. try costco too - but I suppose that costco bag may last you for 3-5 yrs
  20. Remission - you know we can not eliminate diabetes but we can put it in remission. An a1c is THREE months of sugars.
  21. I am living my 6 mo of supervised diet right now - I lost 12ish so far. I could go into turbo ME and spend all my life working out and I will loose - but I’m just wondering how that effects/affects (i never get that word right) post rny I have to do: endoscope sleep study pulmanologist (2 visits - possibly 3) -- for that alone I need to get my bottom on a treadmill endochronoligist for a full blood panel psych nutritionist exercise specialist I might be missing something here ... but I think that’s the list. I am being watched like a hawk - and honestly - nothing makes me wanna do the things that got me here - no desire for crap - and i’ve been doing the Protein first and measuring my foods I am having a hell of a time getting myself motivated to go to the gym - it’s my last hurdle so to speak - I just wonder (outloud) if I should be kicking this into high gear - a big part of me knows that it will mean an easier recovery - just wondering if anyone here has any experience with this. Thank you for your feedback and congrats on the 69lbs - that rocks my friend.
  22. Hi. First post. By the way of introduction - I made my decision to have WLS in August - I have a 6 mo MANDATORY purgatory (irish catholic speak) before I can even see my surgeon - but as a research element I went to a surgery seminar for WL last week and discovered I am best suited for RNY (after saying absolutely NOT) I am warming up to it -- So - essentially I am going to see my surgeon for the first time later in January - Do I go batshitcrazy and work out like a maniac (to whatever degree that means at 200lbs over weight) pre-surgery - or do I just take one day at a time. Just wondering what y’all think. tia.
