What did your doc say? I have been doing great getting in Protein, but still craving veggies. I want the weight to fall off, so I'm all protein for now.
  2. I haven't weighed since last Friday. I'm a little nervous about stepping on scale this Friday. Please let it go down!
  3. Walked a mile at a brisk pace during planning period today.
  4. I am 3 and 1/2 weeks post op and I have not lost any weight for over a week. Frustrating!! I don't understand how I can eat so little, walk, and still not lose weight. I am getting 35 to 50g of Protein in and plenty of Water. I was expecting stalls, but not so soon. Anyone else experiencing this?
  5. I think this group had been amazing! I have counted on the folks on here with pre op questions and now post op questions. Everyone in the December group has been so encouraging!! With that said I'm signing off of this thread. It's getting really confusing to follow all the conversations! We all have lots to say! Looking forward to chatting it up on some of the other threads in his forum. Hope to see you guys there! Thank you, all, for helping me get through surgery. 3 weeks pst tomorrow and feeling great!
  6. Just got my bill...,before any insurance deduction it is almost $60,000. Waaaay more than I thought it would be. Hopefully state employees BCBS of NC comes through big time! Now I'm dreading the next bill with the amount I actually owe! I'm a little freaked out now!
  7. Just for my bill. WTH?? It's almost $60,000! What? That is waaaaaay more than I thought it should be. I stayed 2 nights in the hospital and everything was fine with surgery. Please God, misprint! That just can't be right!
  8. Okay, freaking out... I just got a bill from the hospital for $60,000!! I know that s before insurance, but that is way more than I thought it should be. I swear it must be a misprint, right? I stayed 2 nights and everything went smoothly.

I am 2 weeks post op. I saw my doctor today and asked about veggies. He said not until 3 months! Yikes. He sad for now Protein, protein, protein. I'm craving veggies. I had some avocado yesterday and it was so good... Guess its back to all protein for me. Good luck as you get ready for surgery!
  10. I had some cashews the other day. I chewed them to mush (2 1/2 weeks post op) and they were delicious! I could only eat a few, but Yum!
  11. I get mine at unjury.com, but I believe someone sad Wal mart carries it. Just make sure you get whey protein. That is the protein full of the amino acids our bodies need.
  12. Sammi, Your body cannot survive on 10 oz of water a day. Every organ needs to be hydrated to function. I am glad you are not experiencing any complications, but you've got to get more water in or you will. Sip, sip, sip all day. It's obnoxious how I have my water bottle with me at all times now. Good luck. Keep trying to get more in, please!
  13. Thinking about you today! Praying all went well!!!
  14. Where can I get a tummy binder? I'm wanting to exercise more, but need something to hold my belly tight!
  15. 5 days for me and it was barely a poop. Now it's about every 3 or 4 days. I'm still not regular, but our food I take is so small there is not much to expel. I had no trouble getting in and out of bed. I sleep with a small pillow pressed on my tummy. I find if I sit straight up for too long, it is a bit painful.
  16. SimplySouthern, you are so strong. Hang in there. It will get better. Are you in less pain now? What did they find out on your last trip to the hospital? I continue o pray or you daily.
  17. Vicki, I definitely understand the fear when eating thing. I do not want to DUMP! I hate feeling nausea and every new thing I try I eat a few small bites, wait to see how my body reacts, and then try some more. Question for all.... I am tolerating small amounts of all sorts of food. I have only been following each of the post op phases for 1 week, instead of 2. I wondering if there is harm in eating a variety of foods, instead of the prescribed liquid, puréed, soft phase etc.? I still eat tiny amounts, very slowly. I don't want to mess up the process, but I was craving something to chew. I am now 16 days post op. I have had eggs, Beans, cheese, cottage cheese, natural applesauce, cashews (today), even a couple of turkey pepperoni, hummus, avocados... So far (fingers crossed) everything is tolerated. Do you think it's okay to move ahead with food? Anybody else eating regular foods already?
  18. Talk to your, doc. My doc says no vitamins for the first 2 weeks. Every doc is different.
