  1. Yesterday I had a salad that had lots of raw cabbage in it, topped with turkey. I made it about 2 steps out my front door and to go running back in. I'm thinking the cabbage was a little too rough for my tummy... And boy did I pay!
  2. I have BC/BS and my portion of the bill was about $4500. Whew! I'm chipping away at that. The original $60,000 bill scared the crap out of me!
  3. Shopping! I just had to buy new clothes because I am headed to Florida next week and none of my summer clothes fit. Yippie!
  4. Make your own. Then you can control what goes in it. I put no sugar, but lots of fresh basil in mine. It's yummy.
  5. One Italian meatball with a small salad
  6. Help! What allergy medicines are ok to take? The pollen is attacking my system in a big way!
  7. Turkey meatballs with a little brown gravy
  8. Petite filet, about 3oz. Soo good, little bit of salad. Steak isn't good for us all the time, but this was a very yummy treat!
  9. SW 258 Today 202!!! Down 56 pounds!! DOS 12.20.12 Yippie!
  10. Walked and jogged the neighborhood. First 5k in 2 weeks. I'm a little nervous. I will be walking lots, but I'm feeling pretty proud just doing it. Hopefully by next spring ill be able to run one without stopping.
  11. Baked chicken, one piece of brocoli
  12. Smoked chicken... Smoked all day, tender juicy, fall off the bone delicious and a couple of bites of baked beans
  13. Hiking in the woods, walked neighborhood
  14. Grilled pork chop, little bit of collard greens
  15. Baked flounder with jicama vinaigrette slaw
  16. Time for brackets. I love jumping in on a pool. Keeps it entertaining... And there's always a chance for a little victory money. Championship game party at my house. Potluck with the neighbors.
  17. Homemade chicken soup... Lots of chunks of organic chicken, big ol carrots, celery, onion. Yum for a crisp night
  18. I get it at Harris Teeter or Food Lion, but I think most grocery stores have it. Look where the bags of pizza pepperoni are, Hormel makes turkey pepperoni. It has been a great treat. I toast it in the toaster oven. Crispy, salty, and all protein.
  19. Hi! My advice is to follow the plan. WLS is a tool to help us, but we have to do work, too. I am 2 1/2 months post op and down 52 pounds. I exercise at least 4 days a week, most of the time more. Walking, jogging, hiking, basketball, and Zumba work for me. Also, hit those Protein targets. I try to get 80 to 90g of protein a day. I start each morning with a Protein shake, then eat lunch and dinner.. Mostly Proteins. The weight will come off! Good Luck!!
  20. That's awesome! Guess all that worrying was for nothing! Congrats on your weight loss! Whoo hoo!
  21. I started back work at 2 weeks post op and felt fine. I was tired that first week. Are you driving by yourself or with others? I think you'll have no problems, especially if you can take naps on the way. Good luck with surgery!
  22. These might be perfect for my backpacking trip. I literally just started a thread about lite weight Protein food sources. Thanks for the tip. I think even with carbs would be fine because of hiking all day for a week straight.
