I have united health. Everything has been done on my part the doctors met and went over my case they sent it to my insurance Monday. They called me to tell me that and said we should hear something in 14 business days. But that sometimes the patient hears before the clinic does and if I get mt letter from the insurance to call them ASAP . I said I would. So wondering how long they take to make surgery date?

sounds like the time I got influenza, had never had it and always thought they said the flu that it was a stomach bug, but I had woke up one morning, I had some lilttle breakfast, then about 30 mins later i started feeling so strange inside, clammy sweaty, shaky on the inside, told hubby i have to go to the ER sure enough i was coming down with that influenza that folks take that shot for. I was so sick for 3 days, couldnt get warm had chills threw up had high fever, I hope to never feel that way again, I get the shot now. and this is the time of year it happens, it was from head to toe, and everything combined sick hated it, hope you dont get that feel better!

Yes before i take my meds and the vitamins i always eat first, and drink water, but for some reason the metformin is still going straight through me. grrr, i was only given a few packets of powder protein mixes from the clinic to try, so i dont do them very regular. but i have cut back alot on calorie intake. with higher protein. still trying to find the best protein drink for me. not having to much luck. our walmart here doesnt have alot. I did get this muscle milk that claims its lactose free and high protein, and contains no milk but 180 calories. protein is 20g, carbs 10 g, sugars 3g, it says for ingredients milk protein, havent tried it yet. I have to have lactose free, if i find a good powder i will be using fat free lactaid, really like that milk

So I havent even had the surgery yet, no date yet either, but with the meds I already take, and then the surgeon putting me on that high dose multi vitamin, (chewable) and then putting me on 5000 MGs of Vitamin D since I was low of that, and I am already taking precautionary measure for hair loss by taking 5000 mg Biotin. i just feel queasy all the time. i know i have cut back on my calorie intake but not alot. I hate that at any minute i may hurl, but i havent yet. any ideals?

this is almost me to a T, hubby doesnt talk about it at all, doesnt ask me anything except that he will be there for surgery, I think he is afraid I will ask his 400 lb ass to do it too, but I dont care what he does, he has been overweight since he was 5, claims he knows how to lose weight but chooses not to, whatever, I am ready and almost done, just waiting for the surgery. I dont have any close friends here in Missouri, all my friends are in dallas or mississippi, so yea I am so alone, and wished I had a friend to do this with here close by.

sorry your in pain, when did you have your surgery? and they didnt give you a pain pump in the hospital? they should have, altho you wont be able to go home with it.

I wont mine just watching the carb intake for the diabetes, i need to keep it in my mind if i slip that is where i will head again. but i am hoping with my age, and not looking to get pregnant, so dont have to worry about that, and i have went through menapause, I am praying i use this tool and eat right and live right and just be healthier and med free that is my goal. I feel so sad for the younger ones on this forum and in the world, who have become overweight at such a younger life. teens and 20s. I cant even begin to know what they went through as a young adult and over weight. i started getting heavy at 28 after my son and then a very bad bout of depression from my 1st marriage so the pounds added on. but to me i feel as i am sure alot of folks do. that back in the 50's 60's and 70's our foods from veggies to meats were not injected with all those hormones and perservatives as they are now and I blame that on child obesity, and so many single parents that had to work so many jobs that they werent able to make good meal choices for the kids. I was a single parent and my son luckily is very tall and thin like all of his uncles, he is 6'5 and weighs around 200, but he doesnt look like it. as far as more grand babies. he says it wont happen again lol. just my girl Jada is all i will have, and I am happy with that.

That really sounds good Paul, i am excited. being an old 56 yr old with a 5 yr old granddaughter she needs her Memaw around alot. I thought my sugar was bad because for 4 yrs my reg doctor had me on metformin 500, and it just wouldnt lower my sugars. it was horrible and i complained so much that i could not understand that when i got up in the mornings after sleeping 6 to 8 hours and my fasting sugar was always between 200 and 250, she just wouldnt try anything else and I asked to see the endocronolgist and my first visit he put me on the met 750 ER my sugars started to drop but not like he wanted them that is when he put me on the glimperide. then i started having drops to 60 and felt so bad. now i am between 100 and 160 just depends on what i have ate. i like it better, she had told me once if i was to lose the weight off my belly i would not be a diabetic, go figure

My nutritionist said mix it with milk. I am lactose intolerant and asked if i could use lactaid milk she said yes. I love that milk was afraid i wouldnt but use it for everything and i use the fat free

I had taken a 1 mg if glimeride and had severe lows. Then cut it in half and still had them so i stopped. But now that i am on the 750 metformin my sugar runs very good. My endo is the one who recommended the surgery but he is just a little hesitant . Maybe because i may not need him anymore lol

from what I have been told you can have healthy carbs, instead of a real baked potato you can have a baked sweet potato. you could have dark chocolate, but stay away from refine sugars. I am going to look at it like this, if i know that it is what help me to become obese, I will not eat it again, you have to choose correctly. there are healthy carbs,

ahhh ok, if you were on diabetes meds, I take metformin 750 ER 3 times a day. my endo told me he is worried that when i have the surgery i could then have such lows that i would have hypoglycemia. Makes me a little nervous. has anyone that has had the surgery had these lows ?

Just becareful who adds you as a friend like yesterday some "supposely" chick added me and commented on one of my post, and was chatting like she was on a date site. i was like WTH she added me to her friends, I checked out her profile and said she was 6'5 and 80 lbs at surgery. she was from the states it appeared. said she had surgery back in 88. just really creepy. anyway i did report her as spam and reported the profile and deleted myself as her friend. dont need no weirdos please. :ph34r:

I am so glad I don't have to worry about that anymore being an older woman I have no desires for such stuff anymore thanks to menopause and the fact that I did so much of that stuff in my younger years I hope to never ever see another penis ever. Haha don't tell the hubs. But with him at 400 lbs he surely has to have a clue. This ain't Easter and I am not going hunting for eggs ya know what I mean

I only had to attend 1 seminar lasted hour in 1/2. it was at the clinic the doctors have, went to seminar and then signed up for surgery same night they called me for my first appt 2 weeks later had all the test done EKG, blood work, chest xray, during the seminar found out that i would need the psyhc evalutation, and a upper scope done, so next day after seminar i set that all up into motion and got it all done. my next appt is 11/2/12. hope i find out about the surgery, hoping to get it done before the new year, so I can say my resolution is too lose weight and this time I will by golly.
