  1. This is what the nurses gave me when i was discharged. You know those medicine cups you get with the over the counter liquid medicines. They gave me 5 of them. They filled 2 of them with protein drink and 3 with water. They said sip all of it in 1 hour. And repeat till i get my 60 oz of protein in. I have had no discomfort so far. Thank you Jesus . Just a little sore where the incisions are at. And i have to drink like this for 2 weeks. Kinda weird cuz i feel i can drink more then they suggested. I am allowed to take my vitamin and my regular prescription pills that i was on before surgery. So far no problems. At this tome i feel very fortunate. But yet wonder why i cant have my SF popsicles or SF jello. And crystal light drinks. But time is moving fast for me all is ok for now
  2. Pic wont come up. They told me not to at all eat anything. All i can have is protein drink and water. They did say to cut it all in 1/2 if need to. But swallowing pills shouldn't be a problem i am not in pain just sore. I only use the pump 3 times. I just hated that groggy feeling a know
  3. I am home, sore but that will past. Not sure how I am suppose to take the pain pills and my regular pills that I have. I just can't stay awake so sleepy. Got my bottle of protein drink and water to sip sip sip and walk. And go pee. Gosh do I pee
  4. Yes i told doc when he was here they said they will look over my meds and see what to take. Everything is ok i guess
  5. So far good. Very sleepy. Finally took cath out removed the feet thing. Oxygen off. They said vitals are good. On 2nd oz of water. At 12 they will give me 5 caps of protein. Suppose to check out at 3. But i am scared have anxiety nothing for it but doing ok. Keep praying for me
  6. Had bypass done today. My back and stomach do have pain. On the drip so i am in between being groggy. Urine out pour is good. I have sat in a recliner for 3 hours did good. I have walked 4 laps around nurses stationed. They said doing good Thanks for prayers and comments
  7. Ok at the hospital. Just got my gown on. Now the waiting game. Thanks for the prayers. And praying for everyone else. Happy new year you
  8. Ahhh ok. The store only had grape and lemon i got both cuz its says to drink 12 oz and these are 10. Thanks for the tip for sure i will take it around 5 i was worried and maybe we can leave early
  9. So it really doesnt matter what time i drink the stuff? Like around 5 if i want? That would be awesome. I wasn't sure on the time of day, they didnt give me that info
  10. so we live 52 miles from the hospital where I am having surgery, and guess what, 70 % chance its going to snow where I live and where the hospital is at, on Monday the 31st. Well sunday the 30th is my day before and have to drink that stuff magnesium citrate to get cleaned out. with only Water type liquids and SF popsicles, and Jello and broth. What time did you all drink that stuff? and how long do you think it took to clean you out? and the spasms stopped from needing to run to restroom? reason I ask is because hubs and I decided to leave around 8 pm to head to the town i have to go to and get a hotel room to spend the night due to the weather. just want to be sure I dont have to pull over 20 mins down the road, takes barely an hour to get there. what do you think?
  11. Prayers for you all having the surgery and the ones who are having difficulty after surgery. I want to thank yall for the prayers and well wishes and thoughts. It is scary, have really slowed down my eating but do drink my protein shakes and lots of water. But i have a huge gnawing pain in my upper abdomen. Jello time
  12. Have you ever seen the cat that someone is trying to put in a tub, but the cat doesnt want to get in so its clawing and has all four legs stretch out with its claws hanging on for dear life not to get in. Hmmm thinks that me. I maybe just a tad nervous
  13. I have been drinking the powders?utm_source=BariatricPal&utm_medium=Affiliate&utm_campaign=CommentLink" target="_ad" data-id="1" >unjury protien shakes, 2 to 3 times a day, some SF Jello, 2 chicken breast , 1 on different days. thin piece of steak, steam broccolli and cawliflower with the meals. had scrambled egg white egg beater with a piece of whole wheat toast, and once a piece of whole wheat toast with a slice of cheese on it. lots of Water, some with decaffenated tea, some with crystal light mixes. i feel a gnawing in my stomach and I am fatigued. using the bathroom all the time 1 and 2. is this normal? what do you think?
  14. Good Luck!! many prayers
  15. heard only tylenol the liquid one, or the generic tylenol, unless you can tolerate the taste if you chew them, but advil and ibprofen and naproxin are no no
  16. I guess doing good. Keep reading my manual the surgeon gave me. Today may have slipped had 2 protein shakes had 2 baked potatoes nothing on them but pepper. Never was one to have butter and sour cream on them. Had 2 handfuls of multi grain baked chips. And 2 SF jello lots of water. It's sitting around the house being bored that's getting me. And it's freezing outside. But tomorrow I have some running around to do. So maybe it will take my mind off of food. Didn't realize I could have a poach egg on whole grain toast. Manual coming in handy now How are you doing?
  17. Alot of the anxiety you speak of palpitations and pulse racing sounds alot lie withdrawal symptoms . I had them when I quit smoking horrible feeling. Also the nurse at the hospital told me to make sure I had a stool in the shower to sit down because alot of patients do feel fatigue and weak from showers. Luckily I have a built in stool in my shower. Y'all becareful you all are worrying me. I feel for you who have small children and had this surgery I can't imagine having to worry about them. And glad you got rid of that cheating husband. Yes I can imagine all the stress your under going through this anda divorce Prayers to you all
  18. I can only drink the lactase milk and I use the fat free kind with my injury chocolate splendor love it. I even bought some extract flavorings to use. Almond and mint and coconut. It's so good. Love the injury chicken broth. Of course this could all change after surgery but hope not. Have to do my breathing exercises and it's so cold outside right now can't go walking. This is going to be a long week I know it. But have alot of stuff to do before surgery. Get all the Christmas stuff down. Change linens on my bed clean my bathroom. Get all clothes washed up. Go to store one more time to find liquid Tylenol and gas x. All I say is Jesus take my hand and guide me please
  19. I wont get my menu till my 2 week check up. but for now all I know is that it says my first 2 weeks are for water, protein shakes, tea, crystal light, broth, nothing to cold or hot, i can have SF jello and popsicles. then they will give me my puree menu,, from what web sites I have seen and from reading weight loss surgery for dummies, all the reccomendations are the same no solid or puree food for first 2 weeks. Maybe instead of white potatoe which is mostly starch/sugar, they mean sweet potatoe, who knows. but I for one wont eat mash potatoes and gravy 4 days after surgery, but good luck
  20. This is reality, I understand cravings just like all of you, and I am a southern gal who loves all those comfort foods like the rest of you. but I want to succeed. my doc said only liquids till my 2 week check up, then i can do puree foods. I intend to stick to that because I never ever want to be the fattest in the room. I dont want ppl to look at me with disgust in their eyes on OMG look at how fat she is, ot she has such a pretty face if only she would lose weight. if my cravings go away and I am not around those types of food, potatoes and mac and cheese gravies, cream stuff, if I can go 6 months with out I dont ever want it, those are the the foods that made me fat to start with. there are healthier choices, like spagetti. you can use whole wheat pasta. hunts tomatoe sauce is a good choice they dont use sugar. Do I know its going to be hard, yes I do. I think the reason for this thread is because if you read other threads from people and they arent following the guide lines, its 2 weeks of liquid, not 3 days after surgery do you start eating mash potatoes and gravy, whether the pouch tolerated it or not. how will you succeed? no one is trying to be negative, we are all in this together, and we are here to help each other whether its good job or, what were you thinking. I am 56 yrs old. possibly the oldest on this forum. when I was 44 I was told I was type 2 diabetic, I was pissed, because here i was a grown person and they were telling me what i could not eat anymore, believe me I was just sick. I had to learn what and when to eat. I have a huge sweet tooth, an begging my dentist to pull it, he couldnt find it lol. It is so hard, yes I cheated alot. but I wont this time, because I am having a major surgery to get a tool to help me, so i can be healthier, and look alot better then the fat slob i became.
  21. my pre op diet, had a protien shake at noon, since I didnt get up till 1130, for dinner I had a 2 oz steak broiled, with steamed broccolli and cawliflower, was good, about 10 i will have another protein shake. had 2 SF jello. but couldnt resist 4 pieces of minature york peppermints from hubs stocking, I am going to do this. come on 31st
  22. Not sure after surgery, mine isnt till the 31st, started preop diet today with the shakes, I like the unjury, but tried the sample of the BA, was too thick even added more lactaid milk to it, still thick, has a strong smell. glad it was only a sample.
  23. Bariactric advantage shake is so thick it sucks, that is all
  24. Just got back from walmart, got everything ready for this pre diet before surgery the 31st, got my unjury unflavored, chicken broth, and chocolate, bought all types of crystal light flavors, and alot of decaffeinated lipton tea, i have plenty of splenda, and truvia, bought a package of lean beef that has 4 slices in it. bought some frozen plain broccoli and cauliflower, and a microwave steamer, got my beef and turkey jerky. I am prepared. oh yea got the meds the surgeon prescribed for after surgery, got some benadryl cream for the itching everyone talks about. got that crappy grape flavored magnesium citrate for the day before surgery and an extra bottle in case a week after I cant poop. bought 2 lean cuisines that i could find that didnt have pasta in it. I think I am ready, just wonder if i can get them to give me a xanax for my nerves haha, plz jesus dont let me puke.
