  7. after being told I was denied almost 2 weeks ago because the insurance company had 2 very important pieces of my files that didnt go through the fax, sometimes when you fax more then 2 pieces of paper which i am sure there were at least 30 sheets to fax, the one about my TSH (thyroid test) and my support letter from my doctor didnt go through. so they denied me. well after much pushing on my part with the insurance and the clinic and all the paper work summited. and then having a Peer to peer doctor to doctor (insurance doctor and the surgeon) I WAS APPROVED YESTERDAY!!!! I am so so happy, and now a bundle of nerves and scared to death. please add me to the prayer list. thank you for the encoragment
  8. i am so disgusted with my insurance company right now. United health care. first of all they were the first ones i called to see if i was a candidate for the surgery, they asked me some questions like what was my BMI, how long had i been over weight. that i had to go to a seminar and join a support group. which i answered yes to all. I did all the things the surgeon had me do. had the chest xray, had my EDG endoscope done. had the pshyc evaluation everything, then the insurance gets all the paper work turned into them at the clinical services area and they deny me because they say that my TSH which is thyroid blood test done. which it was. because when they did the blood test it is right on the Quest diagnostics paper work that was sent back to us. and that i had to show proof that i was in a support group which i did today. i think i am losing what is left of my mine

  12. I think that is where alot of the folks are in St Louis, I live 15 mins from Joplin, St Louis is almost 5 hours away, but tell me, have you been to sweetie Pies? I sure wished I could go there 1 time before surgery, I love soul food, and miss it, I lived in <ississippi for 20 years before moving here 10 yrs ago.
  13. that has passed away from the laparscopic gastric bypass? I dont, everyone is so afraid, I think it is the going under part that scares everyone. but that can happen with any surgery. what do you know about the dangers? we need to know. all i know is what people say here and the old videos on youtube, and those are old. if your not honest with your surgeon about your meds and problems you having drug use alcoholism and smoking, well yea you may be in danger. dont hold anything back. so many are scared, and that scares me lol.
  14. thank you Dave
  15. Mr. DL I would love the list too please janicek4u@hotmail.com Thank you

  17. Looking for a buddy close, i am 10 miles from OK and 15 miles from ARK. hoping to find someone close to be chat and visit buddys who have had the surgery or fixing to. drop me a message Janice
  18. ok so i am weird. the EDG and a colonscopy i actually like having them. Love that twilight sleep, didnt feel anything with either. they gave me a little something to make me feel giddy before the EDG and i was talking crazy and had the surgeon and the others laughing before they put me under. its a very small dose and you feel nothing, it will not be the same stuff as they will give you for the actual surgery. i have had 2 scopes of each and never had any problems with either or felt any pain. these are test i dont mine doing
  19. if you look at the dates on those video's you will see that they are old, i saw some that were as old as in the 1998, those are folks that had the old RNY surgery, and not larpascopic. it freaked me out till i finally typed in current dates and the video's got better. One thing I learned, if the person is depressed before surgery, they will be depressed after surgery. its a tool not a cure all. I have stayed away from them.
