  1. thats weird. i cant believe they didnt put you on liquids for sometime first. but i huess they are the doctors. i was put on clear liquids for 3 days post op, full liquids from4-14 days post op, and then mushies from 15-24 days post op, and then solids as i could. and i cant wait until the mushies. cause im starting to get hungry. i keep a bottle of Water with me at all times to sip on. that helps the hungry feeling. i dont think i will be eating our drinking soup for sometime now. hahaha jason r p.s. everyone keep up the good work. oh and i lost 22.6 pounds in the first 8 days because of the liquids. the first 3 days it was hard to even drink 4 oz of liquids.
  2. looks like everyone is doing great. keep up the good work and hope more comes off next week.
  3. i voted no. cause i havent. i had surgery the 26th and i had to stay and clear liquids for 3 days and then full liquids until day 14 post op. so im still on them. but so far i havent cheated. im doing good right now. i get to go on mushies in about 3-4 days. jason r
  4. Day of surgery: 401.5 10 days post op: 377.0 so 24.5 pounds since surgery. sugery was 8-26-08
  5. yea it gets alittle boring sometimes. but its better then working. if you have a desk job, you might just be out a week. thats what i would say to take off. because you really need to rest afterwards.
  6. thanks di, imn trying to my best. thanks alabamagirl, im off for the full 6 weeks. at my job there is no light duty work. its all heavy lifting or alot of bending over. i work for a water works company. so i took off the entire 6 weeks that we have for the 10pound lifting limit. i got short term ins. so its not that bad. oh and yes it put a smile on my face to see that scale. jason r
  7. i done the same thing and just made another one. i cant remember were i put my pin at lol. sounds like you are doing good. keep up the work and you will see it come off. the things you talked about is about the same things i ate. i went and got my staples out today and i have lost 22.6 pounds since the 26th when i had surgery. i was so happy. jason r
  8. dr. miles is my surgern. i went to both of there siminars(sp). and i felt like dr.miles was for me. but both of them are great doctors. they both have done great jobs and well over 450 weight loss sugerys. so you would be in great hands with either one. go with who you feel best with. dr. miles was the first one in state of alabama to do a lap band sugery. go and see both of them is waht im trying to tell you. then you can see which ones you like the best. jason r
  9. thanks di i will check. but i havent felt like i was running but i will check. im going to try the ones i got from st.vincents in the can to see what it does also. on another note i got my staples out and they put some clue and stripes on there. they said they will fall soon. just wash over them. and i have lost 22.6 pounds since surgery. i was happy about that. i wasnt thinking that much but thats what the scale was reading. im tried now and think im going to lay down for a few mins. check back in later. jason r
  10. thats the kind i have now. it taste very well. my wife even likes the choc. kind. i will check back in after i get home from the doctor.
  11. no i haven't weighted yet. i got a scale that went above my weight since im a very big guy. and it didnt turn out to be very good. so im going to weight tomorrow when i go to the doctor and get my staples out. but i will report if i have lost any yet then. my wife says it looks like it. i guess taking in maybe 400 cal. aday from 4000-5000 cal. aday, i should have drop a pound our two. i been having problems with my protein shakes giving me "lets say many trips to the bathroom" problems :blushing: the last two days. i guess im going to have to try another brand. im going to ask them about it tomorrow. jason r
  12. alabamagirl, im doing fine. starting to get hungry. i hope this last days of liquid diet goes fast. i sure could eat some smashed potatos. im getting tried of soup broth. but im trying my best to stick in there. jason r
  13. on the diff size bands they use. i was told that somepeople had a bigger round the stoma. where they put the band then others. so some people will require bigger bands. like the realize band. it is smaller in lenght then the normal lap band. so when it gets pu ton, its already giving you alittle restence. and thats why its only a 9cc band and the other lap band is a 10cc band. its funny your doctor put some fill in your band when installed. because you are swallon from the surgery and you shouldnt need it. thats why most docotrs wait until 6 weeks out to do a fill. they want you to heal first. but every doctor dont think the same i guess.
  14. im glad you was able to get your fill. but im sorry it wasnt enough to give you some restriction. just stick in there. you can do it!
  15. i wish i could help you on this. but i got staples and then they just put heavy duty band aids on there. and i was told to just take them off when i took a shower in the next 2 days. they came off real nice with warm Water and soap. i would suggest calling your doctor and just to make sure you are suppose to wait until they fall off. sorry i couldnt help anymore. jason r
  16. we i started my full liquids today. i made me a nice fat free Protein shake this morning. i put the Protein powder in a blender and added 8 oz of fat free milk to it, and 2 cubes of ice. and man was it so good. i feel full now just after 4 oz. im guessing the thickness of it made me full. im not sure what im going to try next. but i know it want be any jell-o. im so tried of jell-o. i will check in later what i have. i also got to sleep in my bed last night for the first time. and it was some nice rest. i did flip flop from side to side but i got better rest then the recliner. jason r
  17. congratz on getting banded. i was also banded on the 26th. im doing better today. i got to sleep in my bed last night. and it was great. im also having problems getting in all my fluids that i need to. i started my Protein shakes this morning, and man was it good. i was ready for a change from Clear liquids. i added some ice to it and blended it and it was great. and seem to stay cold longer that way. i've notice that i feel full longer with the shake then anything else, i guess because the thickness of it. my gfas pains are gone but i did walk alot and us gas-x. i hope everything goes good for everyone else. keep us updated. jason r
  18. yes i have had them. im on day post op. and i had them every since day 2 post op. i get them after i drink maybe 3-5 oz of something. another member on here said they got them when they was getting enough in there pouch. mine doesnt really hurt much. i was wondering the same thing, how many people get them. oh, and i dont get them everytime i drink either. jason r
  19. i got some fat free milk today to mix it in also. and yes im taking witamins. two of them a day. just like i was told to do. they have 90% of my iron i need daily. my wife had a bad dream last night. she dreamed i left are little girl by herself and went out to a party. i told her to stop thinking like that she knows i love her and the kids, and would never do anythink like that.
  20. come on everyone. if your doctor told you you could drink it you might need to find another doctor. dont mess up what you have waited so long for. soda is very bad for you. no no no no no no just say no and the acid in it is not good for us. no matter if its flat or not dont drink it.
  21. thats great news. i was just banded 4 days ago. and i cant wait to see the scale start to drop. keep up the great work.
  22. di, i got some whey and some cans of the protein they sale. but i was thinking i couldnt have it until 4 day out. i could use some cause i do fell weak some. im getting good rest. and trying to take in as much fliuds as i can. i was thinking it would be easy to get 64 oz down but its not. im doing 48-58 a day. i know i got to do better on that. ford, i m sorry to hear you are sick. maybe you be better soon. just try to drink fluids. nmydash, im will keep it coming. i dont have anything else to do since im off work for 6 weeks. alabamagirl, thanks. im trying my best.
  23. congrats to everyone for ths weeks weight lost.
  24. i would make sure you had plenty for them to eat. make sure you have you some supplies as well. like Water, sugar free Jello, no sugar added juice, Vitamins. and it all depends on what kind of diet your doctor puts you on. some like me have to have Clear liquids for 3 days post op and then full liquids until 14 days post op before i can go on mushie foods. whos is doing your sirgery and where?
  25. thanks! im on day 3 now and can go to full liquids in the morning. i have been doing what they told me. but i will say yesterday was hard. i had to much sugar free Jello and it really does hurt. i think i ate about 4oz of it. im looking forward to the full liquids to have something then Water, juice, jello, and etc.. im like you i dont want to over do it. i like my new stomach and i want to keep it tha way. i havent weighted since i been home. i think im going to wait until the next support meeting. one thing is im a big guy and i dont have a scale that goes up that high.
