fordgal88, sounds like your springvally trip wasnt that great. sorry you had that happen. maybe your mom will look past that and see its worth it. im still counting the days down to get mine. aug 26 is getting closer. did any of you come to the support meeting. i didnt get to talk to many but i did talk to james. he so funny. i also got me some smoothies they sale there to start dring to get ready for the band.

mine took about 2 weeks from when she sent it off. but bc/bs dosent do it. they hire carewise to approve it for them. so look for a letter with shps on it. and that will be it. well at least with me it was.

looks like august is a good month. alot of people getting banded.:cursing:

yes im very excited. now at the support group when they ask if anyone has a surgery date i can say YES!

i try to be savedbygrace. and try 1 year, i wish it was only 6 months. its been along road and im ready to come to the end of this one and start the road of losing, weight that is. :thumbup:but on a great note. i got of hold of here this morning. and she gave me a surgery date. can we say 8-26-08. im so happy, and my wife is to. that is the first opening dr.miles has. i have waited this long i can wait another month and a half.im sure it will go by fast. so now i just got to set up my nutrition class today.:biggrin:

ok this is making me very mad! i have been approve for almost 2 weeks and nothing from dr.miles office. i have called everyday they been open(except when neomie was not there). and nothing. i told them today i need to talk to her or someone that knows what to do next. shes always with another patient. i think they need to get another person to help out with this part. oh, and i also email her 3 times. and thanks everyone with the answer to the bc/bs question. i got ppo but its 100% or st.vincent and Anesthia. with a 100 co-pay. and 50% for dr.miles. so i guess what every it cost from him i will pay 50% of it.

i was just approved for the surgery. and i was lookinj for an old post, but i cant find it anywhere. its a post about things you need to do and get before the surgery. so if anyone knows where it is pur if you have a check list it would be great. any info would be nice. thanks in advance. thanks jasonr

yes,it was a good support group. i was happy to see some men up there. as always alot of good info. i was there with my wife, and it was her first support group and she thought it was very good. the next one will be the 19th of july.

it will be the 19th of july. there always on the 3rd saturday of the month. and there at 10:30am i should be there.

thanks! i will let you all know as soon as i do. it will be tuesday before naomi at dr. miles office is back in. and i got a question for anyone with bc/bs of alabama. how much did you have to pay out of your pocket for the surgery?

ok i just called bc/bs and they told me that they will pay 50% of the doctors fee. and 100% with a 100 dollar co-pay of st. vincents east fee. so you might want to make sure. but i will ask naomi tuesday about it. and report back. so if theres anyone on here that has got bc/bsof alabama please let me know what you had to pay.

no i dont have peehip but i do have bc/bs ocal goverment heath insurance plan. yes you need to call naomi and ask her. but she want be back in until tuesday. i didnt know to the last min. and she told me. you might not have to have it with peehip. not sure on out of pocket yet. bt i do know a girl that had it done and she had to pay like 900 bucks out of pocket with bc/bs.

aprilapple, i just got my approvel letter today:thumbup: in the mail and i also used photos like you. i gave them about 5 years worth of them. and about 2 per year. i wanted to make sure they had alot of them. so yes it works fine. and it took about 2 weeks from when she sent it in to get the petter back. and a few other things to tell you. go ahead and get your sleep aplna (sp) done. and you got to do a 1 on 1 class with the nutritionist also. before they send it in. dont wait to the last min. to get everything done.

yes it has finally got here. i got my letter today saying i can have the surgery. im so happy. i guess i will call dr.miles in the morning and see whats next. this is a great day for me. now i know how everyone else felt when they got there letter. funny thing, at first i wa whats this. it didnt come from bc/bs. it came from shps/ care wise. bc/bs gets them to approve the surgery. so i called and made sure that it was waht i was waiting on. and when the lady told me it was. i screamed yes and she was laughing. lol

ok i emailed veronica and she said it is the 21st and at 10:30 in the same place as the last one. the one in the fittness room is going to be for the gastric bypass people.

i was told it was going to be on the 21st of june. but if your going to call please let me know if i was told correct. i was also told its going to be in the fittness room this time in building 46. but i can call to double check if you would like me to.

so is anyone from her going to it. me and my wife is going. and i believe a freind of mine is going. i think its going to be in the fitness room this time in building 46. :thumbs_up:

went monday to the one on one nutrition class. it was very helpful. so now im just waiting on them to send the paper work in. so im hoping to hear something by the end of the month. keeping fingers cross. glad to see everyone is doing great. jason r
