  2. I am sorry I don't have an answer for you. but I think what we went through with this surgery we can handle anything at this point lol.
  3. I bought premier protein from Sam's it has 30 grams of protein 160 calories 11.5 ounces. 12 for 20 bucks so not bad. since I am 6 weeks I can now eat the premier protein bars too. they have a lot of calories 290 but still in the range we can have because they have 30 grams of protein. for every 10 grams of protein the calories need to be 100 or less
  4. I just take my 2 Flintstones daily and actually yesterday was first time I got 80 grams of protein in. I think the key has been eating. I still haven't conquered 64 ounces of Fluid.
  5. Surgery date 10/29/12 HW 287 SW 276 CW 237 total lost 50 pounds!!!
  6. that's why I asked yesterday because I seen most saying they can only get about 300-400 a day in and I know with just one protein shake is 160+ or powder protein with milk 200+ so I was worried I was eating and drinking too many calories but she said everyone can consume more or less and some can eat only one to two bites and some can eat 1/4 cup. so I'm not stressing about calories any more
  7. I am 6 weeks post op and doc told me today not to worry about calories but not to go over 1000 and to get at least 75-80 grams of protein in and to definitely exercise
  8. I am doing so much better now. I am 6 weeks post op. had my post op appointment again today down 237 from 287. was moved to regular food today and said I can have anything I want so to be careful. I can't exercise everyday at the Y but I try at least 2 times a week and can do 1 mile on the treadmill and 3 on the bike so far. my goal is to be able to work out on the elliptical
  9. I was on full liquid diet for 10 days then went to pureed /soft foods which I am still on at 5 weeks post op. my next appointment is on Tue 13th so maybe will be put on regular food then
  10. I an 5 weeks out and I don't get a full feeling yet. I hope those nerve endings wake up soon lol
  11. good luck NiKi!!!! speedy and safe recovery!!!!
  12. do you still have a drain? my pain totally went away once it was removed. and the shoulder gas pain eases with more walking and you can try using gas x
  13. my recovery was a little rough in the beginning like 2 weeks after surgery was hospitalized because if a possible intestinal bleed and dehydration. the bleed was very very minute and went away in its own. then last wednesday went to hospital for more fluids and Friday had to get an endoscopy done to find I had a stricture that surgeon fixed. this weekend I feel so much better and hope all the small complications are behind me.
  14. gosh it is comforting to know I am not alone!! I just don't want to fail!!
  15. I didnt know about this forum but I will he happy to post. Surgery was October 29th I am down to 244 from my highest weight of 287. I am from West Virginia
  16. oh and the 3/4 cup is if I am eating like soup with a couple crackers
  17. ok so tomorrow I will be 5 weeks post op. how much realistically should I be eating at this stage? how many calories? I feel I may be overeating because I get a lot of calories each day. right at or over 800. I see on myfitnesspal where some barely get 300-400 a day. I am really worried about this as I can eat 1/2-3/4 cup where some say one to two bites!!
  18. most everyone gets this. it is totally normal. it is wear they went through the muscle in that side. I'm 5 weeks post op and just got it last week
  19. i am hoping this passes but I wasn't a big sweet eater to begin with and maybe that is why I can't stand these protein shakes that are way too sweet. I've even tried watering them down so to speak but no go. I get 3-4 ounces and can't do anymore. I'm just going to.have to try and eat my protein instead for now. sure wish they would invent a protein chewable pill lol
  20. I even bought a couple bottles of the grape frost isopure and those have a nasty taste. I know this is important but I don't know how to force myself to drink them
  21. sometimes they can do it at same time. your gyn and surgeon would have to discuss it and come up with a plan. your surgery may have to ne postponed a week or so while they coordinate their schedules. definitely ask if they can do this
  22. right now even the total lean makes me sick. I have tried unflavored powder it tastes like fleishmans yeast. all the others are too sweet tasting right now to me. so I have been trying to eat more protein but it will not be enough since my doc requires me to have 80+ a day
  23. that's what I use from GNC I also got my papaya enzymes there bogo they are 19.95.
