Happy Holidays everyone! Had my surgery 12-12-12 including the 2 week liquid diet I am down 30 pounds! I am doing a happy dance all around the Christmas tree! I know I have a ways to go but I am looking forward to a new year and a new me.

Just wanted to update everyone on my journey. I am 24 yo and had surgery on the 5th. Weight the day of surgery was 270 and last i checked on Sat i was 252. Almost 20 lbs! So exciting since i didnt really expect it to come off that quick. I have a 10month old daughter who is now home with me again after the surgery and she is definately helping me get my walking in. Taking care of her full time while my husband is at wok has not hurt at all but it does wear me out as my lil girl is 20lbs herself. I just keep telling myself, "i was carrying 20lbs on my body and now im just carrying it on my hip." this journey has been rough but well worth it and i am finding the positives.
Thank you everyone for your posts. I dont write much on here but i love reading them all. Im glad to know im not alone when it comes to the smaller things like bowel movements and monthly cycles.

Awesome! But guess what?!? News Flash everyone! I pooped and it felt great! Lololo!!

This is definitely tmi, but was/is anyone else kinda scared to poop? Lol.

I finally came home from the hospital yesterday after surgery on Monday. My kidney function has gotten better since the surgery so that's the best non-scale victory I could ask for!! It's good to see everyone feeling better and better. I still very much need my pain meds unfortunately. I'm still on liquids and I'm drinking Isopure for Protein. It's actually pretty good and comes in different flavors. Non milk based, no carbs low sugar, with 40g of protein per bottle at GNC. Hope this helps those of you having trouble getting protein in.

My surgeon had a superman tee shirt underneath his scrubs this morning. That's the last thing I remember. How awesome is that?
So, I am starving!! My nurse says its probably thirst, but I assured her you don't get to be my size without being familiar hunger(-;
I am so pleased with how I've been treated. They gave me some awesome lip moisturizer. I brought all kinds of stuff, but no need. They have these little sponges for me to suck on. Perfect little sips.
Did I mention that IM STARVING??? The gas pains are the only issues. Behind my chest and ribs. DID I MENTION MY STOMACH IS BBQing MY RIBS??
I hope all of you pre-opers have as easy as an experience day of surgery as I did. I might have already mentioned that I'm STARVING!

So I am getting closer only 7 more days until my surgery date.... I go for my preop this wednesday oh gosh the nerves are starting to really set in now lol

For all my December journey partners and RNY Friends I want to wish you Happy Thanksgiving. For those who are having the liquid version of Thanksgiving just imagine how awesome we are going to look next year. It is all going to be worth it.

Congrats to all of us December dates!! Whoo hoo! I'm getting so excited.... And so freaking nervous. I've never had surgery of any kind... So ready for a new me, but nervous about the surgery. I can't wait to be on the other side of all this. I'll be praying for all of the December babies on this list. We can do it!

I started drinking the GNC lean shakes this past sat as 2 meals a day and eating a sensible dinner... I'm down 12 lbs... However I have 35 more to go before dec 10 saw the dietician yest she said why mess with what's working so she upped me to 4 a day and nothing else but water... I can do this... They keep me super full for about 4 hours so I will drink one every 4 hours... I can this I'm not stopping at 35 I plan to lose 50 before surgery today is the first day of the rest of my life my journey truly begins today

Wow! All is done and now I start a 3 week liquid diet on Monday and then surgery! Glad all the hoops are jumped through and so excited to start the real journey. I just want to thank all of you for sharing and for this forum as it makes me less nervous. Good luck all and I look forward to hear of your experiences once surgery is done.

15 weeks post op today! Ive lost 72 pounds since surgery and 115 from my heighest weight!

Only three weeks out but starting to see a little difference

Finally got my date! December 12!!!

I feel that way all of the time even after losing 93 lbs....but I keep reminding myself that I'm a far cry from where I was and I'm not gonna have the body of a young girl at 43 years of age. Self acceptance and gratitude come into play also. I weigh 193 lbs down from 285. According to my BMI I am still obese (not morbidly obese anymore!) 7 1/2 months out. But if I never lose another ounce I thank God everyday for every ounce pound and inch that I have lost!
