Got my most protein ever today. Finally up in the 65g range! Its nice to be able to handle it without getting sick. So proud of all of us, its been rougher for some but its always nice to know we have this group to come to. With our troubles, questions and yes small triumphs!

Ok so unfortunately its that time of the month and i am super craving a pepsi and some kind of choc candy bar!!! Ugh!! I think the cravings/mental part of this is the worst. I havent tried too much that didnt agree w me but its just those things you cant have that you want. Even if i could just have 1 bite or 1 sip...

Had my 2nd post op today. 6 weeks out and down 30lbs. Guess thats ok. The weight loss is slowing down but i guess as long as it keeps coming off ill be happy. I felt like its actually getting harder now than right after surgery. Anyone else feel like this or am i just crazy?

The protien is really hard for me too. I am so sensitive to even the unflavored powder. Ugh..my brother in law gave me a good idea tho. Hes an athlete and he says they mix like the choc or vanilla flav shakes with fresh fruit and make smoothies. Ive only tried the choc one with strawberries but it was better!

Anyones weight loss stalled yet? I had my surgery on Dec 5th and lost 25lbs in the 1st 2 weeks. But this whole last week since i have transitioned to solids i have only lost 1 lb! Its really frustrating! I felt like i was doing so good now i dunno what happened. I am eating between 200-300 calories a day...is that too much? I think i will start working out this week too since i feel up to it now. And ideas????

Just wanted to update everyone on my journey. I am 24 yo and had surgery on the 5th. Weight the day of surgery was 270 and last i checked on Sat i was 252. Almost 20 lbs! So exciting since i didnt really expect it to come off that quick. I have a 10month old daughter who is now home with me again after the surgery and she is definately helping me get my walking in. Taking care of her full time while my husband is at wok has not hurt at all but it does wear me out as my lil girl is 20lbs herself. I just keep telling myself, "i was carrying 20lbs on my body and now im just carrying it on my hip." this journey has been rough but well worth it and i am finding the positives. Thank you everyone for your posts. I dont write much on here but i love reading them all. Im glad to know im not alone when it comes to the smaller things like bowel movements and monthly cycles. Praying for you all as you continue your journies!

    Newbie

I just had my consult w the surgeon and he said since i dont have to do the 6 mo diet either, as soon as i get my nutritionist and psychiatrist appts done they can submit for insurance approval and schedule an appt. He said it just depends on the insurance but approx 1-2 months depending on how quick the ins comes back. Good luck!

How Many People Have You Told?

My husband knew already and we just went to the surgeon consultation together. It went really well ans he was so supportive i decided to tell my grandma and parents. My dad and grandma have both had it done. I was suprised how supportive all 3 of them were. Only planning on telling one or 2 close friends and i will have to tell my boss since i will have to work from home for 2 weeks. Getting all my appointments lined up and the support from family makes me excites for this great life change.
  19. Anyone had their surgery done by dr. Small? He is currently in the hagerstown, md area. He is who i have my consultation with next week and wanted to see if anyone on here had seen him before? All opinions welcome.

How Many People Have You Told?

Thank you for posting this because i am just getting started in the process and am wondering who to tell. Right now its just my husband and a friend who went with me to my consultation bc she is considering it as well. I am afraid to tell my mom even tho i tell her everyhing and im not sure why. My dad had wls almost 3 yrs ago now so i think i will tell him first since he will truly understand better. I have medical complications that are part of my reasoning and if anyone from work asks or what not, im just going to tell them i had the surgery to help improve my health. The truth but without going into too much detail. Good luck!

    Decisions To Make

So im 24, 5'6" and 260 lbs. I have had my consultation for weight loss surgery and am starting my journey. The 2 options are gastic bypass and lap band. Im leaning towards gastric bypass. I have an appointment the 1st week in sept for my physical and consultation with the surgeon. My goal is to be my high school weight of 160 again. Anyone have any opinions on which procedure they would recommend? Both would cost the same fod me so its not a factor. Please help! All experiences and stories good and bad welcome. Just looking for some honesty.
