  1. leelee, They tried to do the same thing to us at the Molding clinic. Execpt, he slipped up on the phone call and said that the price he quoted was for a J&J and not the inamed. I argued with him and explained that he specifically told me inamed and we would have no other. There were three of us going at the same time. Finally, he gave in and the inamed band was placed. I know this because 5 days later it had to be removed and a doctor in the US confirmed it was inamed. I am sorry for your troubles. I try to tell everyone to beware of Dr. Haucuz and Andres, but some people will not listen. It is a hard lesson to learn on your own. For me, it wasn't only hard, it was also costly.
  2. Whether or not he can place the US band or not, please do not use him. I was his patient on 12/10/2004. He placed my band wrong and when I called him from the states, he would not return calls or try to help me. I lost 6,000.00 plus. If you want to spend your money, please use a qualified surgeron like Ortiz. Please don't be another victim of Huacuz or Andres Betancourt!!!! This is not rumors or assumptions, this is the absolute truth! Shannon C.
  3. Dr. Querry in Marshall Texas is a wonderful surgeon. She removed the band that I had placed in Mexico because it had slipped. Then several months later she placed a new band for me. She has done several band placements and she is a great person. She also, will do fills for people that have been banded in Mexico or US. If the fill is done in her office it runs about $100.00. If it is done at the hospital the additional fees apply. I have had a fill done both ways and the office was just a effective and wow, was it cheaper. She can be reached at the number below: Dr. Querry Marshall, TX 903) 938-7200
  4. Dr. Querry in Marshall is my surgeon and she has put together a support group. The first meeting should be around the middle of April. I will post the date when I get it. Mamadiggs, who are you going to use in Mexico????
  5. Until I get my fill any suggestions on eating. I am starving. I can eat anything. I have been counting calories and trying so hard to watch what I eat, boy is it hard.
  6. I am excited to say that I have lost 16 pounds. Tomorrow will be 3 weeks. I cannot have a fill for another 3 weeks, per my Dr.'s advice. I can eat anything. Is the normal fill after surgery 6 weeks?
  7. Thank you for the information.
  8. I am not sure about PB on liquids. I am still suppost to be, but I was kinda of starving and I have scrambled and egg and ate it. Thanks for all the nice words.
  9. I am 35 min. from the LA border.
  10. I live in Diana, TX. This is close to Longview and Marshall, ETC. Is there anyone in my surrounding area that has the band? Just wondering.

  14. I donpt believe it. I am down 9 pounds. I had my surgery on Friday and I can't believe this already. I am watching my intake and making sure to take in as much protein, without getting sick, as I can. I haven't had a PB or anything. I think the second time around for me with be the charm
  15. Well, I had to be postponed from the 9th to the 11th. Then when they got in there, there were so many adhesions that they had to open me up and do the surgery. I am getting along slow, but steady. I am taking in Clear liquids and I haven't been on bit hungry. I guess I am on my way now. I would like to thank all of you for your thoughts, responses, and prayers. I will check in soon.
  16. Dr. Querry - Marshall, TX (she removed the first band). I went to the Molding Clinic in TJ for the first surgery.
  17. To make a long story short, the band was placed at an incorrect angle and there was massive infection around the band and in the surgical incisions. Three of us went and I was the only one to get this infection and have band problems. I don't know if it was just a fluke or what. I started to get really week and got to the point that I couldn't get out of bed by myself or hold anything down. I went to the hospital and did a barium swallow and the result was improper placement. The band was completly closed and I couldn't get anything down. I am really excited and look forward to the new me
  18. Well, I am very positive that this surgery will be sucessful. I had the band done in TJ Mexico in December and it was improperly placed. This time, I am going to stay in the states and pay the difference.
