OK, so what about me...My journey here is a good place to start.

I'm, well, was married 31 years, then he left. I have 2 daughters, 30 and 19. Worked weekends to be home during the week with them while growing up. My husband left when I had opportunity to work full time at hospital I had been at for 27 years. I bought him out of the house we lived in for 23 years. So, still live in Shoreham, NY.

I began my journey for the surgery 2 1/2 years ago. Began with research on web. Then to open info meetings with different Drs in Long Island. Narrowed it to the ones that work with my insurance, which is union so that's the hospital system I work for. Brought me back to Syosset, NY and Dr Gohil. My first Dr left practice.

As of now I am working on my Cardio workup and waiting for Nutritionist appt. Today is my last of the 6 month Dr visits. (7/12/2012) My second time doing them. Last time I had a sick relative in family (Mother in law right after husband left me) and had to deal with Hospital and Drs and hospice and death so everything else stopped for that time and I didn't get back to Dr in time for that month. Well, nothing worthwhile comes easy, as it's said. Wasn't going to give up so...second round all but done now.
