  1. So glad you're home and feeling great!
  2. That's wonderful news. Congrats on your weight loss too!
  3. How are things going now that you're home? The first week is the toughest.
  4. Best of luck to you! Hope you have a pleasant hospital stay.
  5. That's great! Doesn't it feel wonderful to know all your hard work is paying off? Really happy for you :-)
  6. I also believe its for both. I think it really helps with the mindset of THE SURGERY IS NOT GOING TO MAGICALLY MAKE YOU LOSE THE WEIGHT. I personally think the two week liquid diet was great because I couldn't imagine eating the way I was before and then, BAM! The next day your dealing with recovering from surgery and the fact that you're never going to be able to eat the same way again. For me, that would have been hard to handle mentally. It's hard work, but so worth it. It's kind of like a backwards weaning. LOL hope that makes sense.
  7. Did you recently stop your pain meds? That can cause insomnia.
  8. 143 pounds with diet and exercise is amazing! Hats off to you. You're going to do great after surgery!
  9. Did you tell them that when you called? You don't want to get yourself too backed up. You could also try a glycerin suppository or fleet enema if you feel really constipated. Honestly, I think most of the pain I was experiencing in the second week was due to constipation. I told them I was constipated at my two week check and I got the response I seem to get a lot lately "Oh, that's normal" It's funny, it used to be every time I complained about something, no matter what it was, they would tell me it was because of my weight. Now I just keep getting told that I'm normal! Lol
  10. I found a book at Barnes and noble called "Eating well after weight loss surgery" it had some really delicious looking recipes in it. I didn't buy it because it was a little overpriced in the store. I'm planning on buying it on amazon for a lot less. I liked it because it gave you recipes for all stages of diets.
  11. Kizzy, I love how you tell it like it is!
  12. Oops sorry. I goofed up. I meant to say you can look forward to not being hungry after surgery! Best of luck to you!
  13. Goos luck tomorrow!actually looked forward
  14. Yes, I see my nutritionist tomorrow and I get to start purée foods. I'm so happy! I've been on liquids for 5 weeks now. Two weeks preop and three weeks postop.
  15. So happy and excited for you! Here's to a quick surgery and a comfortable hospital experience!
  16. Oh that's good. I still have the ones I took during my preop diet. I'll give it a try today. I tried it with a couple of Tylenol and it tasted like poison! I have an appointment with my nutritionist tomorrow, I get to start purée! Yippeeee! I have so many questions for her, it took up three pages in my notebook!
  17. Do they taste horrible that way? What do you mix them with?
  18. I'll have to try it. I have to say as a kid my mom would make a huge pot of split pea soup and practically force feed it to us kids. I've avoided it my entire adult life for that reason. I'm going to give it another shot. Who knows, I might love it.
  19. I drink smart water too. Before surgery I could drink two a day easily. Now I struggle with one.
  20. I've noticed I've become very uncouth and just burp out loud whenever the need arises. I have to do it though because it hurts otherwise!
  21. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart! I really needed that encouragement. I'm so jealous of everyone else who has lost 20+ pounds while at the same time, I've lost 9!
  22. I had the same experience. I called my mom, who's a retired icu nurse and she said the same thing they told you. It's probably left over from surgery. Call the doctor back if you're still nervous about it. That's what they're there for.
