I had lots of direction, lots if pages in my binder, recipes too. One thing surgery doesn't do is take away choice, take away cravings (it doesfor about 6mons then it returns), doesn't take away old habits. And not everyone gets dumping either! I don't always dump if I screw up. Its behavior change are struggling with.... We just must keep and stay strong and keep pushing on!

Keep in mind your insides are healing even if you don't have much pain! A lady at work came back early, after one week cause she said she felt fine. Later that week she left by ambulance. Get job wasn't bad ono lifting n such but her system went I'm too shock, it was just too early the doc said. She had to be off 4 mos because she damaged her internal sutures moving around too much.
Please takE off the time you need!.major surgery its nothing to play with! Also being too active too soon can cause other problems you dont realize at first...

fattypattynomore got a reaction from my3stars in Las Vegas/alcohol
Impossible! All alcohol turns into straight sugar as soon as you drink it! To keep sugar as low as possible, drink it straight on the rocks! After bypass the alcohol goes straight to the blood, so be cautious as you really cant drink as much as before. The ratio is 3 to 1, for every 2 oz of Alcohol u consume ( 2oz is standard measure for a shot and for the other drinks) , your body gets the affect of 3 -2oz shots..... So be careful.
Suggestion, crystal light has mix drink flavors, take some with you and ask bartender to make your drinks with it instead of the syrups they normall use, u can also ask for half the alcohol.
Or, just have then give u just crystal light but in a mix drink looking presentation so everyone has the impression you are drinking right a long with them. That's what I do...I still have just as much fun and so far every bartender I've asked has no problem doing it, especially cause I tip as if it's n alcohol drink !

Yes, I've researched the loose skin saga for over ten years...it appears genetics is the main component. I've seen people do every trick, gadget, cream, exercise, weight, etc, but still had loose skin... I think the more we accept it and stop stressing it (me included, I'm guilty too) and just realize that we are the cause of it and this surgery will save our lives. I'd rather be alive with baggy skin than deceased with fat rolls!

Its to help with fatty liver and risk. Every bmi point over 50 someone is means more risk. My bmi is 53 so my doc said its best to get it to 50 if I can but its not required. But yes, its to give you less chance of risk for all/any complications after surgery. Bypass surgery used to not be done on anyone with a bmi over 50 because of increases risk, so be thankful docs will do over 50 bmi and be thankful he just wants surgery to be safer for you!
