Measure your loss month by month, try not to sweat the daily/weekly... there is no way you can hang on to the weight forever if you stay on track! If your bmi is low, if you are around your tom, if you are stressed, or eating lots of salty stuff, you know, those can slow loss temporarily. When you get closer to goal, that is something different, and tweaks may have to be made. How fast you lose is up to your body, not you... all you can do is stay on plan!

6 weeks post op? How'd that cheese steak meat go down, lol? At 6 weeks I couldn't tolerate anything like that. Good for you.
Of course stalls are normal. Weight loss, especially as you get further out, is a journey of fits and spurts. Changing up the diet and the exercise routine is the best you can do and I promise as long as you are sticking to your calorie goals the scale will move again. I cut out all the unnecessary Snacks and crap that slowly crept back up into my diet and am eating very high carb (85-100g a day). I have also been busting my butt at the gym every day. Finally the scale budged after 2 weeks from 191 to 189 this morning.
    Good luck!

Well I just stuck to what I was doing, counting cals, carbs, Protein. I uped the gym time and I had a day where I didn't count cals! The next day, I was down 3lbs! I'm now back to counting and tracking but I have hope again! Oh getting in a lot of water!

I was about to post this! I am 15 days out. Lost 125 lbs with band, gained most of it back, now have lost 21 lbs since sleeve surgery (which is great) but kinda nervous because I haven't seen the scale move in nearly a week! It's very hard to eat so little and not see the scale move.

I've heard it mentioned before about making sure what your eating isn't too high in sodium and drink Water like crazy. Most women fluctuate with their cycle too. All you can do is eat Protein first! Are you eating until you feel full before stopping? I'll be 7 weeks out thur. and am trying to navigate this sleeve like everyone else! lots of trial and error.

I was told that on average revisions have poorer results due to a couple of reasons:
    1. May not be able to get a good tight pouch/stomach due to scar tissue
    2. Bad habits learned with the band - eating sliders etc
flip side - I spent alot of time thinking about what I could have done better... my part of the deal. I like to think I learned those lessons well and I did reach my goals. I have lost 155 since my revision.

I was not informed. Infact I was grossly misled to believe that this device stayed in forever. Also they are responsible for device failure just like the tobacco industry and smoking. Add to it the complete deserting by this fly by night surgery center after my operation.

Everyone looses differently, this is your journey- no one else's. the people dropping weight fast are NOT better off- their skin will sag, they are at risk for mal nutrition, hairloss, the list goes on......You need to only compare you to you. Monitor calories, log them, increase Protein, increase Water, cut carbonation and caffeine. It took me 6 yrs to lose 80# !!! I know the frustration. It will happen, your patience, perserverence is essential. Tie a knot in your rope and hold on !! You can do it!

I had one that last approximately six weeks. What finally broke it for me was doing the five-day pouch test. You can find it here:
    http://www.5daypouchtest.com/plan/theplan.html
I have actually gone back and done this a few times when I am getting way off track and need to get back on again. It always works well for me.
Also, during this "stall", make sure you are taking your measurements. While you may not be showing a loss on the scale, you may still be losing inches.

HoneyBadGirl reacted to Fiddleman in help I need solutions to solving my chocolate cravings
The reason why we like chocolate is the little bit of phenylethylamine that it contains. This nuerotransmittor releases norepinephrene and dopamine into the blood stream, the "feel good" hormones. Unfortunately, the 1/2 life of phenylethylamine is only 5-10 minutes which means the cravings come back quickly for more chocolate. It is better to find a food that triggers the release of the hormones with a longer 1/2 life. Caffeine in coffee might be a good example because it tends to stay in the body a lot longer before being metabolized. Just something to consider when thinking about the chocolate cravings.

17 pounds in 2 weeks is great! I'm out a little over 2 months, and I've lost 30 pounds. I'm a slow loser I don't know about anyone else, but I had food "issues" preop......head hunger.....overeating.....comfort eating---I'd eat because I was happy, sad, bored---heck, I didn't need a reason. BUT I will always deal with these things.
The thought that keeps me from eating things that aren't on my post op plan is this: I've permanently modified my body, worked too hard, and come too far to sabotage myself......and always the eye on the prize.
Don't be afraid to reach out for help......local support groups for weight loss surgery are filled with experienced WLS vets that will be happy to share their success tips/tricks........and there are therapists who specialize in helping people with food issues--at the Psych Eval, the woman offered her services post op should I find I'm going back to bad habits......and if I do, I'll be calling her.
Are you eating enough? Are you reaching for them rather than your planned meals/snacks? Just something to think about....I always keep the equivalent of 2 meals with me when I leave the house so I don't have any excuses.....meanwhile, don't get down on yourself or discouraged ('cuz you're doing great!)......Most of us have probably done the same......but we need to learn why we did it so we can have a plan the next time we reach for something we shouldn't. We're here to help, too! Good Luck!

I totally get what you are saying but crackers are better and its not like you can never have chocolate its in moderation I'm sure you just want the taste right now n that's fine just don't sit with them on your desk and next thing you know eat the whole bag now that's when you start to feel bad but I wouldn't deprive myself of it. A pc isn't a bad thing its when you consume to much of it when it become bad and that's with any foods. Now if u don't have the wheel power to walk away from just a taste stay away from it I don't want you to put the taste n flavor back n then be craving it lol chocolate I don't crave but I'm not going to go with out it my Protein Shakes are chocolate flavor lol Stay strong the holidays are coming and just enjoy life and your new sleeve xoxox

Want to know a secret? Powdered milk and Greek yogurt are truly your best friends! Like mashed potatoes?? Add 1/3 of a cup powdered milk plus whatever else you enjoy on them, for extra protein add plain Greek yogurt as "sour cream" with some bacon crumbles and shredded cheese. In a half cup of "potatoes" you could have 15ish grams of protein. It will take you an hour to eat.. But you'll feel better the next day if you get your protein in today. eggs with shredded cheese. tuna with Greek yogurt. Cottage cheese. Gotta think outside the box. My nut recommended I drink a glass of skim milk for Breakfast every morning with 1/3 cup powdered milk.. 16grams of protein-done!
