November Surgery Dates Anyone? Let's Connect!
I'm with Riverside. Their program has been SUPER supportive. I love it there. I'm sure OSU's program is just a good! I have two friends going through this journey too' you ever need support, let me know! Also, the support groups at Riverside are open to anyone, even if you have had or are having surgery elsewhere. Congrats on your journey!!!

Pre Surgery Diet Change.....Headaches and Fatigue
I'm on day three of my preop diet protein shakes for breakfast and lunch and a small piece of lean meat for dinner and some veggies. I've a had some really bad headaches that do not get better with Tylenol. My BIGGEST problem is I have been so emotional! I cry easily which is not like me and I'm grouchy. I know it's because I have a lot of stressors going on and food was my coping skill (a poor one). Now I'm trying to really work on new healthy coping skills. Would like to hopefully utilize more exercise when these headaches subside.

Starting my liquid diet tomorrow. Are you allowed veggies and a small piece of lean meat for dinner or all liquids?

OVER 300 lbs
Do I think someone that "only" had 40 lbs to lose should do the surgery? Probably not, I'm not sure the benefits would outweigh the risks. That being said, at one point ALL of us were "only" 40 lbs overweight and we obviously did nothing at the time. Hindsight is 20/20. No judgments here. ((Shrugs)) Also, I remember complaining about being 20-30 lbs overweight (now I'm a couple hundred). I never did it in front of morbidly obese people but everyone is entitled to their own insecurities and struggles.

Favorite full liquid, savory choices?
I have to prepare a sample meal plan for my pre-op appt on Monday. I have it mostly done but I was wondering if anyone could suggest some of their favorite savory, high protein, full liquid meals? I have plenty of protein shake recipes but I know I'm going to get soooo tired of all the sweet drinks.

One month and still have incisional pain
I haven't had surgery yet but I had a stereotactic breast biopsy three years ago and I would get sharp pains where the probe was placed for 6 months to a year. It would just happen periodically and it was a pinching/stabbing feeling. I was told it was normal so I'm sure it's probably similar? That muscle and tissue has been through a lot! Give it time and ask your surgeon if you're concerned.

8 months out
My surgery is November 6. It happened to me probably nine years ago. I kept begging them to just let me off the ride and they kept saying that they could get it. Cedar Point is open until October. I don't think all the rides run but a lot do.

I know that everyone is different but you are giving me hope that maybe I'll be able to wear a cute dress someday!! I'm starting 364 and I'm 5'9"/5'10" (everytime a different person measures, it's different lol.) Maybe I'll be able to ride roller coasters at the end of next summer! I'm from Ohio so we have Cedar Point just a few hours away. Last time I was there, it took two people to buckle the belt on one of the coasters. It was mortifying and I felt like everyone was staring at me so I haven't been back yet. Can't wait to change that! Thank you for sharing! So very much appreciated!

Jrotondella - do you mind me asking what your start weight and height was? Just trying to guess where I might be after I lose that much weight.

Anyone in Ohio?
Mine is November 6th with Dr. Nirav Rana at Riverside! I'm finally over my initial, "Oh crap," feeling and I'm just ready for the 6th to get here!

Surgery date set- Instantly terrified!
I am finally excited. Still scared but not feeling the, "OMG, what have I done." Haha. I'm ready to start my new life. I just needed to remind myself why I'm doing this and realize how I would feel in six months if I didn't have the surgery. It was pretty clear to me after that.

Nutri-bullet? Which food processors work best?
That's great information! Something I hadn't thought of with the extra air! Thanks!

Surgery date set- Instantly terrified!
It's good to see others feeling this way! I mean it sucks but it feels like the only thing I was seeing were the excited posts lol.

Surgery date set- Instantly terrified!
Thanks guys! I'm more calm now. I'm sure I'll continue to ride the emotional roller coaster between now and the 6th. I just keep reminding myself why I'm doing this. I think I just wasn't expecting to schedule so fast! Insurance was just approved yesterday afternoon! I decided on rny because my BFF just had her band removed today. It made her really sick. Then I thought about the sleeve but I worried about heart burn/acid reflux since I already have it. I didn't want to end up having to do a revision. So I said go big or go home lol. Just talk to your dr. There are people that argue for and against all forms. The hard part is determining what's best for YOU! Good luck! Feel free to contact me anytime. Maybe we can support each other's craziness! Haha!!
