  5. Is it even possible I'm this **** fat? I saw a picture taken of myself today and really look gigantic. I still feel like a normal weight person inside after all these years so the photos shock me. Can't wait to get this surgery done. Approval, please come soon.

I just went out of state for a family reunion. I took all the pictures so again I am in none of the pictures. I am so used to this because I always avoided anyone taking a picture of my fat ugly self. When I got home I thought, darn, I should have had someone take a picture of the new me lol. Old habits are hard to break. Good luck!

  9. found a loophole so I could drink vodka and grapefruit juice. . I take a prilosec before and I am able to drink alcohol just like before.. so I have been drinking for the past week and gained back 2lbs. I have decided to stop drinking since it defeats the purpose of me trying to be successful with my wls. So disappointed in myself that I let it get out of hand. I have been under some stress lately and it was a poor way to cope. Tomorrow is a new day and another opportunity to get back on track.

Grapefruit juice interferes with meds. Be careful. I don't believe in loopholes. The scales won't lie.

If you read here prior to surgery and after, this is very common and we accept it and focus on other things, and behold it passes!

  13. So tired of these pissing contests. Band/Bypass/Sleeve who cares..Whatever works. No wonder so many leave and not come back.

On the other hand people ASK for the experience that others have. So it can be a positive thing.

  14. I find it less helpful to hear about the journey of somebody who's under 250 and having the surgery. I've seen so many people just under 200 pounds having the surgery and I am horrified. I guess everybody's journey and reasonings are different. It just seems like such a drastic surgery and if I were 200 pounds I would be thankful… At least this point my life. But just to lose 50 pounds, I have a hard time wrapping my head around it.

I was 220 with HBP, asthma, neuropathy, diabetes, knee replacement..... Unable to walk or exercise. You do not always know what health problems people have along with their 200 lb. weight. No matter what, I find it delightful not to judge others, but to be a cheering section for everyone. I have struggled with my weight since I was 12, and I am 67 now. I was losing the battle.
