  1. I stalled at 9 months out, creeped up 10 pounds and have been struggling to loose the 10, never got to goal and almost 2 years out now.
  2. after surgery I discovered I could no long stand the smell or taste of chocolate, and strawberry makes me ill. Thankfully I was able to find a Protein shake that is an iced coffee that I still drink to this day that has 20 grams of protein and only 2 grams of sugar. I also have found one that is a cake batter flavor that has 22 grams of protein and 2 grams of sugar. Chike is the coffee one and the other is Protein Milkshake Bar
  3. I am 47 I was sleeved almost two years ago, not at goal, not an easy road but slow and steady I guess
  4. I had the surgery because I was type2, as well as high blood pressure and it has helped both
  5. welcome, I to had complications & sometimes still do
  6. I have lots of trouble with citrus foods as well as tomatoes, watermelon, and strawberries. I don't know if it is from the VSG or the fact he took my gallbladder.
  7. you look great, I carry mine in my gut/apron and I am too the point that I don't think I will ever see it gone!

  9. I would call his office, as I found most plans are all different
  10. I do not know who to contact but I can not respond to or post in the veterans forum, I had surgery almost 2 years ago and do not want to be limited to the newbies or beginners as I need to communicate with people out over a year.
  11. so both the thyroid and parathyroid are fine. so no answers. Discovered I am anemic and the day of blood work back to 223. After seeing a specialist about my parathyroid on July 8 I decided to check my blood sugar 7/8 Weight 218.8 7/9 - 177 decided to re-evaluate everything going in my mouth 7/10 - 157 Weight 217.8 7/11 - 139 Weight 215.4 7/12 - 115 Weight 214.2 7/13 - 113 (mistake ate some craisans) Weight 213.8 7/14 - 128 Weight 213.6 I am cutting out artificial sweeteners which also means no more coffee, plus I began drinking the juice from one lemon daily mixed in Water. These by no means are secrets or fads, just doing what I need to do for me to try and figure out what is going on with my body. I have also made a point to eat Protein first, I carry pouches of tuna with me and when I am hungry that is my go to snack.
  12. Would love to have some support here in SW KS to cuss and discuss issues facing
  13. I must say I thought this thread was for those further out, at least 1 year, for me it is hard to relate back to those that just had surgery as the body is going thru many changes. Can someone share a link with me to a different group on this board for people out for over a year?

  15. Since surgery I hate the taste of Chocolate. Tomatoes, strawberries, watermelon, avocados, and mushrooms make me throw up since surgery. Water, I can drink tea or coffee or a flavored water like Hint but not plain old water.
  16. I had my surgery on 12/16/13 lost 91 pounds SW 293 then at 9 months after surgery I stopped loosing and have been in a yo yo mode since 8/14 I will gain up to 20, then loose it but never getting below my 202 (lowest weight but not goal). I have a Protein shake for breakfast, 2.6 OZ Tuna snack mid morning, lettuce with humas for lunch, lettuce with dressing for supper. I had complications with my surgery, and still feel the effects, vomiting daily has become the norm. I moved far away from my surgeon, so I am going to a local doctor for the first time since surgery tomorrow to have my thyroid checked because my hair dresser thinks it may be bad as my hair is awful despite taking all of the supplements that I take.
