Labor day Challenge
I am at 151 today. I'm certain the weekend hasn't caught up with me yet. Did manage to pass up a funnel cake at the fair for a Protein Bar.

So What's Your Opinion - Isopure or Isopuke?
I couldn't stand Isopure before surgery or after. I was really hoping I would like it because it was an easy option but alas, I can't stand the aftertaste I get from it. I like really sweet stuff so that wouldn't be a problem for me. I ended up drinking Powerade Zero for liquids and Protein shakes.

151.5 today. I think my body just wants to be in maintenance. It just stays within + or - 3 pounds of my goal.

Since no one else responded I'm going with the assumption that the meeting is cancelled for tonight. I've been totally craving Mexican food too.

Protein shakes...how long does it take you to finish one?
Absolutely it gets better. I had the same thing after my surgery. It seemed weird that I couldn't handle cold Water and had to have it luke warm. Also, I could get more Powerade Zero down than water. If your shakes are too thick or too sweet right out of the container, mix one up in a big container with a couple ounces of milk. It makes it less sweet and it's just more Protein. You can then keep it in the fridge and just take out small portions at a time. I had a hard time swallowing for the first week because it hurt to swallow in my chest. it will get better as the swelling goes down.

COFFEE
I had no restrictions on coffee other than keeping it clear for the first week. I waited at least a week but I had no interest in at that point and I can't drink it without creamer. It took a few weeks to get back up to drinking it regularly because it didn't sit well at first. It initially gave me some heartburn but once the swelling went down, I had no problems.

Experiences with Phentermine?
My endocrinologist put me on phentermine to help me lose weight quickly since I was pre-diabetic. Phentermine is his third choice of weight loss drug but I happened to be allergic to his first two choices. I was on it for 12 weeks. It worked great and killed my appetite. the only side effects I had was extremely dry mouth which went away after the first month.

Quest Bars- How Often?
I eat one every day and I look forward to it all day.

Eating Slowly after the sleeve
The size of the opening into the stomach is the same but since the stomach is smaller, all that food doesn't have as much space to move to. For me, it's like eating through a funnel. I can put a lot in at once but it takes a while to drain through so it can sit there or backup if I try to put too much in too quickly. It gets quite painful if I do this.

My surgeon was just arrested!
Wow, that really sucks. Just be glad you didn't have surgery with him though since he could be under the influence when operating.

Protein bars
My favorites are also the Quest bars same as JeanZ_RN. I also like the Powercrunch bars but I don't think they are quite as nutritious as the Quest bars. I have also found the Pure Protein bars to be ok too especially the chocolate Peanut Butter one.

Which calcium do you use post op-need examples please
I use the viactiv chocolate chews. I can't stomach the chewable ones and I was told not to take gummies.

Gallbladder attack - OUCH !
Sounds exactly like the attacks I had before I had my gallbladder removed. I had my first attack while I was pregnant. I thought maybe it was the baby's foot in my rib cage. I had two attacks after giving birth. When I told my mom she knew exactly what it was because the same thing happened to her. Recovery was super easy and I felt so much better without it.
