I'm November 6th also! I just got my insurance approval today!! Im so excited! I'm having my surgery in Okc. I'm 28 yrs old. I have 2 small children. 1 was a csection so I'm hoping the sleeve will be easy. My weight really spun out of control after I had kids. I'm 5'2" and currently weigh 208lbs. My goal is 130lbs. I have high cholesterol and sleep apnea. I'm so ready to start this new chapter in my life and be able to keep up with my kids. I'm tired of being absent from all the family pictures. I'm ready for the new me!

    1) I have lost 19 invisible lbs. They are invisible to the rest of of the world- but I know they are gone.
    2) Telling people I had WLS gets easier. I am very happy I did it
    3) Protein Powder drinks wear thin ( no pun intended). I bought too much in preparation. Anyone want a nectar Syntax Fuzzy Navel? I have plenty!
    4) Drugstore.com sells discounted ready-to-drink Protein Shakes and has free shipping for any order over $35. My current favorite is EAS Advantage carmel cafe, pretty yummy. These will be my commuter Breakfast drinks.
    5) Water consumption should be easy , right? Still don't / can't get in as much fluids as my Nut wants. I am not dehydrated though. I'm just not up to 64 ozs.
    6) My Fitness pal is an excellent food / nutrient tracking tool. I highly recommend it. Protein counting is soooo helpful.
    7) Daytime TV really, really sucks.
    8) I am so concerned about Hair loss that I am tempted to buy some infomercial Shampoo. WEN anyone?
    9) My new tummy makes some interesting growly Halloween noises. Boo!
    10) I need to stop weighing myself daily! I can not keep up losing 1-1 1/2 lbs a day. At this rate I will hit my birth weight in about 6 months.

And by the way, I had a baggie size serving of movie theatre popcorn this weekend and the earth stopped moving, there was chaos in the streets and I think I may have lost 10 hairs. This is exactly what I expected to happen though

    I will preface this by saying I'm a pre-opper...
I have the FitBit Flex and have had the FitBit one.
I love the flex - it's a great motivator and I love the fact you can track your food. The Flex connects w/ bluetooth to your phone so you can get live feedback.
I helps me personally - I just wish it came with a shock collar...it would zap you if you're not active enough or if you reach for a carb.

    Chin up, Buttercup.
You've identified a problem - you're working on accountability. I admire you for putting your struggle out there.
Keep working hard and love yourself. How would you treat a good friend that did the same thing - you would probably offer words of encouragement, not beat them up. Treat yourself that same way.
Sending positive vibes and ((hugs)) your way today.

I am day 18. I have had.. (wait for it), a cupcake, half a cheese burger, two vodka Water and apple-juices, 5 mini cocktail sausages, toast with ham and a very small slither of cake. Am i beating myself up over it? No. Should I have eaten these things? Probably not. Will the world stop revolving as I'm still under 700 calories a day? Definitely not. It's a cookie. I know you feel bad, but a little perspective is required here.... clamber back up on that wagon and keep pumpin' the Protein. You'll forget it all in about, ooh, say, 20 minutes...

There is a bigger issue going on here then food...Something in your head has not been fixed....What is driving you to abuse yourself like this...Only you know the answer hun!
food addiction is a horrible roller coast ride that can have horrible life threatening side effects...You know that because you did the hardest thing anyone can do....You had this surgery....
Now and only now you have to start listening to your body and your sleeve...Sounds silly....But your body sends you signals to stop eating......you are eating because of an emotional reason....
Measure out your 1 cup and place it beautifully on your plate and only eat that..Slow down and chew a lot..Put your fork down after each small bite and feel the food going down and you will realize you are being fed.....Give your brain enough time to tell you you have eaten enough....If you are hungry a hour later eat some fruit or a few nuts....
This is not a low calorie diet..This is a tool we all chose to get to give us the time to work out our food addictions...You have kept a lot off....It is a battle for sure...Hope you are getting in all your Water....
There are better days a head...grab them and run with them...This is your turn to be the person inside that really wants to come out...Brush the dust off, get back on the horse and ride like the wind....Stop sabotaging yourself for only the reasons you know...Take the time to find them and if you need to talk about it...I would be happy to help where I can....send me a message if you so desire!
I am only 2 months a head of you and paid a huge price for my surgery.....I work at it every day and so does everyone else....It is your turn to get where you want to be....You can do this .....K

McButterpants reacted to CrystalW in November sleevers - what are you doing to prepare?
My date is November 1. On 09/29 I quit smoking - I have been smoking two a day for about a year but that habit ha been challenging to give up. I just really want this surgery more.
-I stopped drinking pop on 09/24. That one has been TOUGH. I usually drink a 20oz Diet Dr Pepper or Diet Coke every day. About a month ago I switched it to sprite to break the caffeine addiction. That helped immensely. Now I drink the occasional Vitamin Water or mio but otherwise I'm just drinking plain Water.
    - I have been working on not drinking during meals. This one is going to be so hard since I drink like a fish. I usually pack away at least 24-36 ounces at each meal. I realized this morning while I was having brunch with a skinny friend that she barely sipped her water and I had finished my third glass. There must be something to that. It's a hard hard habit to break.

McButterpants got a reaction from KrittyKat in My big fat bucket list
I want to...(in no particular order)
Walk into a room and not worry or think about if I'm the fattest one there.
    Feel attractive.
Have the energy to be a mom that can do active things with her son - maybe embarrass him by breaking out into a river dance in front of his friends..
Take the 3 mile uphill hike up to the lake.
    Run. Run with wild abandonment.
Have my picture taken - there has to be some documented proof that I existed.
Smile. A lot. I have a lot of time to make up for.
Shop for clothes in the Misses section, not in the plus department that has the worse selection and prints that look like they belong on a 1970's vintage couch or window covering. (Sore spot, obviously)
Sit in a chair and not worry that the creek I'm hearing is the chair asking for help or a warning it's going to break.
    Sit in a booth...comfortably.
Have my wedding rings fit comfortably and not look like they are forced on a Breakfast sausage.
Take a walk without fearing some smart ass kid isn't going to yell something out the window of his car at me like "Speed up!" "It's going to take more than a walk!"
    Not fear seeing old friends.
    Be proud of myself.
OK - that's enough for now.

My ex husband only introduced me to SOME of his friends because he was embarrassed of my weight. We've been divorced for more than 10 Years (and I have a great hubby now) but I can't begin to tell you how good it felt when he came to my office to pick up some old military documents of his that "I found". I had them for several years but was just waiting. It felt awesome. He didn't even say anything. He just kept looking at me. I went out of my way to have him follow me back to my office rather than bring the papers to him. I'm telling you. We was floored and had no idea what to say. I loved EVERY minute of it. HA!
