I lost 7 lbs pre op and 5 lbs post op! Surgery was 9/26 so I'm 4 days out. I'm totally excited as well. I'm sore, but that is my only complaint. I'll keep in touch with your progress. Congratulation!

I dont know if I am posting in the right section but I just had to share that I am shocked and so happy that I have lost 13lbs in ten days!
I stepped on and off the scale about ten times to make sure that it was true. I havent lost this much weight in over ten years. It is so awesome, everything Ive been through thus far is so worth it!

So I had my surgery on the 19th, everything went great. And I have not felt hunger since surgery. But then sometimes I am looking at food (like while in the grocery store) and all of a sudden I "think" I feel hungry. But then I stop and actually challenge myself and realize Im not hungry. So now I am having a hard time with sipping broths and protien shakes because I cannot tell if I am full or what. Is this normal? I feel like I am going crazy. Any advice will be much appreciated.

Same thing happened to me and I freaked! Thought I had a leak and went to see my surgeon. Turns out it was gas and he told me to lay off the pain meds... Yep a little embarrassing.

I'm day 8, too. Had pain on my left had side, exactly the same as yours. I find if you don't jiggle around too much, or stretch yourself out too far - particularly if you're laying on your front, it eases off. Don't panic, we're in the same boat and I have every belief that it's getting better every day... Keep at it

I have had increased pain on the left side. I'm 4 weeks out and it has slowly gotten better. Heating pads help

It's my understanding that the incision that's giving you the most pain is the one they pulled your stomach through, then put it back through after reducing its size.
It will feel much better in a few weeks. I used a small pillow for support when lying on my side.

It gets better. Many surgeons make the largest cut right there, so the muscle and other tissues are healing. Give it time. Remember, you basically got stabbed in the side by a very sharp tool.

I am in college and taking three classes. I let my professors know they days I would be missing class and I took all my homework with me to the hospital (I actually got alot done) I missed one exam but since I let the instructor know I was going to be out she let me do a make up. 6 days after surgery and I am back in classes!

I too cleaned my whole house top to bottom. I pulled out all my boxes of clothes and got rid of things and found winter clothes with tags still on but too small! But I am excited to fit into them this winter! My surgery is four days away. Well wishes to you!

I am going to TJ as well and my surgery is the 19th. I am not in Idaho though, I am in New Mexico!
