  1. November 1st. I like in Nor Cal but driving to TJ Mexico. Good luck everyone!!!
  2. Ouch, poor thing! Can you visit with the doc before surgery? Good luck!
  3. Go to your local butcher and ask him to give you a ONE POUND bag of chicken or beef fat. Keep that in your freezer, for motivation and inspiration. Every single pound that we lose is a victory! It seems slow... But it takes the body some time to lose weight safely. Apreciate every pound! You're doing GREAT !!!
  4. Constipation means you cannot have a bowel movement. It doesn't really cause pain. Sounds like you have gas pains. Can u go on a walk and take some gas strips?
  5. I was approved at 37 BMI and am now @ 35 BMI. (20 days pre op) I'm self pay but my doc approves if u have 30 BMI or higher. I don't really have any co- morbidities (slightly high cholesterol which will come down with the weightloss). So excited about becoming sleeved! Good luck to everyone!
  6. Me... 19 days Til Halloween, which is the day We drive to TJ. Surgery on Nov 1st. How many days do you have left? Sooo excited and ready!!!
  7. You can do it ! It is soooo worth it! Fill up with extra water (flavor with crystal light for variety) Stay busy. Stay away from TV (way too many food commercials) Good luck and best wishes! And never lose that awesome sence if humor you have! :-)
  8. No, I will be starting my 14 day liquid pre op diet on the day you're getting sleeved. Good luck and best wishes!
  9. Carbs! I am already training my mind and body (pre op) to avoid carbs which convert to sugar. Protein first!
  10. Whenever I get, as you say "stuck". Imprefer to think of it as my new normal (which is lower than my previously higher normal). Which I know is just my body stopping to take a breath and rest. Weight loss is stress on our system. Our body wants to feel stabalized. However when I'm ready to push forward and resume weightloss I do something different. Lower caloric intake, increase exercise, water, take a colonic cleanse tea... Something quite extreme. Like for instance... I'm still 20 days pre op and have been on 1200 cal diet. Hit a plateue stuck at 218 for a week. Have been on 800 cals for last two days... Now finally down to 216. To to www.resetmypouch.com. Helps jump start a weight loss stall. Recommended by many VSG veterans. Good luck !
  11. I'm 20 days pre op ...hoping there will be some good nutritional and vitamin counceling in Mex but so far my pre op paperwork just says children's chewables, calcium and iron. That's the extent of the details. I've looked at so many posts about what people are taking post op and I've come to the conclusion that No two sleevers are taking the same supplements. So I'm uncertain... How much of what is good or too much etc. what are YOU taking post op and how often do u get labwork done and is everything looking good for you?
  12. Thanks so much for posting this! Just ordered my samples :-)
  13. That's so AWESOME! Congrats to you! You're an inspiration...
  14. Good point Arts! And they say it takes 21 days to break or form a new habit. So if I just suck it up now and get through the rough part, maybe post op would be so bad.
  15. Lol...oops... BENE-FIBER, not benefited.
  16. My pre op diet is the 2-3 protein shakes and a lean protein with green salad per day. My 14 days is still like 9 days out but I'm ready to get started early. I'm going to start tomorrow. Want to get through the sugar/ carb detox ASAP. Want to get as much weight off as possible pre-op. going to start my 30 min of walking early too. No time like the present. Gotta git r done! Oh and my doc recommends a Metamucil or benefited capsule a day on pre op to combat hunger. We shall see...
  17. Mine was super negative about the surgery and Mexico. I will be changing doctors but I'm going to wait Til post op so at least we can bypass the negativity about Mexico.
  18. Lol @ good lunch :-) I think u meant good luck, but thanks for the laugh! That's great.
  19. Lol. Read your post Tampa, did I eat the girl you met? Well I sometimes get pretty hungry, but I have yet to eat any people. And no I haven't had my surgery yet. I'm still 4 weeks pre op. good luck with your post op recovery and weight loss :-)
  20. Lol. Read your post Tampa, did I eat the girl you met? Well I sometimes get pretty hungry, but I have yet to eat any people. And no I haven't had my surgery yet. I'm still 4 weeks pre op. good luck with your post op recovery and weight loss :-)
  21. Or am I gonna get stuck with a bill? My poor husband is so low tech, he won't even know how to use my i pad. Can he make local calls for free???
  22. It just occurred to me that despite many years of hearing about warnings to never drink the Water, eat the ice in Mexico... I haven't heard anybody talk about it on this forum? Is it that these hospitals and hotels that are designated for Medical Tourism have really good filtration systems? Or has anyone experienced any problems with say... The ice? I'm assuming the bottled water is fine.
  23. The plugs are the same in Mexico. Good luck and best wishes !
  24. Bummer, you're about a week ahead of me. Same doc, same hospital, same hotel. Hey, wanna switch places... Mines on November 1st Or maybe you could just be sure to let us know how everything went post op. I will be with you in spirit ! Best wishes...
  25. So ready to git r done! 28 days left. Who else is going in November???
