  1. Well, my doctor did an online evaluation of me before approval. I do not have any co morbidities so I'm not worried. However if I did, I might feel a bit under tested pre op. my understanding is that all those tests will take place on the morning prior to surgery and if there are any problems, the surgery is postponed. I actually prefer less fuss. But honestly, in the back of my mind... I'm thinking... Shouldn't we have had the tests here in the US before getting all the way to Mexico just to possibly get turned around? My doctor, louisianna Valenzuela has turned ppl away for being under 30 BMI and being anemic etc. seems like these things should have been determined beforehand. Oh well... Still I feel comfortable with the process, it'll be fine.
  2. 48 hrs?! Woo hoo !!! Best wishes for a smooth sailing adventure! I'm treating this like a mini vacation to Mexico (with a super special souvinere "new tummy")
  3. My doctor in Mexico will only operate as low as 3O BMI
  4. I payed my deposit two months ago... Seems like a year ago. So excited to get this done! I have 30 days left. Driving 9 hours to Mexico on Halloween day, surgery at Mi Doctor on November first! HOW MANY DAYS TIL YOUR SURGERY???
  5. Thanks everyone, 920 Amy, good to hear because we're really not going to have time to get my husbands passport in time. He drivers license and birth cert. that'll have to do! It's too bad that this Medical Tourism industry can't make it easier on us and just somehow validate a temp pass where we come over for surgery and leave 5 days later. Oh well... Wish us luck not getting stuck !
  6. Oh I just bought some too. And I keep seeing these posts about headaches after taking it. Now I'm scared to try them :-/
  7. That long ?! What about going through the post office, faster? I need the fastest way possible!
  8. Wow. Scary. I hope you get to feeling better soon!
  9. Ok, good to know. We will be with the driver, leaving our car at border parking in California. Sounds like we don't need one then. Right?
  10. Someone mentioned it here and I can't find that post. She said she bought one in TJ and it helped her back out of TJ faster. Anyone know where we get these? At hotel?
  11. Wow, interesting because most people take 2-4 per day. I just checked my toungue and it's not white. White can often mean "thrush" yeast infection. Which may not even be related to the vitamin. Can u ask your doctor or nurse?
  12. No I haven't had that experience, but how many are u taking per day?
  13. Congrats! I'm just a couple months shy of 51 and getting sleeved in 32 days. Woo hoo! Can't wait!!!!
  14. Personally, I wouldn't do it. One more thing (person) to have to worry about. Plenty of ppl go alone. Let him be your special helper when u get home! Best wishes.
  15. Yes, lots of people to without passport. My husbands coworker just went over and came back with nothing but his drivers license. I guess it depends on who's working the border at the time. Some guards are stricter than others.
  16. Isopure... Comes in many flavors, is clear, 160 cals, 40 grams Protein costs around $5 per 20 oz bottle. NEW WEIGH...I've seen it in watermelon and fruit punch found at Walmart for about $2.50 a vial. Less cals and 42 grams protein but I cannot drink this straight, I pore it into an empty ISOPURE bottle and top of with cold Water.
  17. Just get right back on track! Don't allow that to happen again so you won't feel so bad. Maybe u should. Intact the do. And see if u should do a laxative or colon cleanse to get rid of the solids?
  18. November 1st in TJ Mexico/ self pay. So excited. Getting everything organized for my new life! Best wishes and much success to all !
  19. Oh.... I see what that is. It's a risk assessment. Well I tried it, but couldn't get the procedure type to register. Oh well.
  20. Hhmm.. Clip ins. Right... Not sleeping with them would be less taxing on our own e wishing hair. I will keep that in mind. Good idea, thanks.
  21. While I apreciate your concern, and it's always good to educate yourself on pros and cons and risk factors... I myself have read all the complication stats I wanna read. I've come to the conclusion in life that EVERYTHING we do has risks, let alone surgery (all types). I am 100% committed to having the VSG surgery done in 5 wks so I'm not even going to read that link. I would recommend that you search for links Re: the dangers Nd risks associated with being obese! I'm hoping and praying for no complications... But whatever the outcome, I'm ready to do it and move forward with my life. Only you can decide what's right for you though. Best wishes!
  22. I'm just wondering if anyone's tried getting volume weaves into their thinning hair? And my only concern would be that perhaps the weight of the extra hair would somehow cause more hair to fall out? I'm still 5 weeks pre op but the hair falling out thing is something I want to have pro active solutions for. I keep hearing ppl say that even taking Biotene... They still lost hair. I'm not a wig person, but I'm also not a bald person... So what do y'all think? To weave or not to weave... That is the question! (Hair weaving is where hair that is purchased thru salon or beauty supply store is basically sewed into your own hair close to the scalp) you can go thicker, or longer (extensions) or both.
  23. So excited for you! Best wishes, keep us posted. Be well.
