  1. Hhmm... Interesting skittlesjessie. Thnx
  2. Gamergirl... You are going to bounce all the way back!
  3. I'm trying to get this figured out. I want a peel while there. It's less expensive and I already have to be off work, so it sounds like a good plan. There was one lady here who had one done through the OCC center but I've had zero luck contacting them/ getting a response. For those who've bad it done there... Who did u use? How much did it cost? Did u do it before or after surgery? What was the experience and results??? Thanks :-)
  4. You'll do great Kayla. Just tell the anesthesiologist if you're feeling nervous he can get you relaxed quickly!
  5. Awesome! Enjoy your vacation paradise with fresh fish and your weight loss journey! How much have you and he lost so far?
  6. Lol, no u don't need to remove it. I'm just super hungry right now (day three, only protein shakes, lettuce and chicken) so I'm thinking those 15 nuts look delicious. Lol. So strange... Everyone's diets are soooo different. My BMI is 35 and I'm realizing, our pre op diets must be based on many factors. I think it was gamer girl who said that her and her hunny both used the same doc and had the same BMi but were on different pre op diets. My three days before surgery are CLEAR liquid only. That outta be fun :-/
  7. Or anyone with personal experience this subject. I'd like to get a chemical facial peel while I'm out from work recovering from my VSG in 11 days. I am going to Mexico and they do peels for quite a bit less than here in California. Was thinking I could get a peel the night before surgery and get it over with. But someone just commented not to even shave prior to surgery (infection risk). So would a peel be an infection risk? I've never had one before. Hoping for a medium grade peel. Should I wait Til after surgery? But often times, being on antibiotics makes it so you can't get these type of cosmetic procedures. What do you all think? Should I wait? If so how long?
  8. Lol... Mindijean...put that menu of yours away! That's making me hungry. Most of us don't really get FOOD per say. May I ask... What is your BMI ?
  9. Belloni45.... How much water are you drinking? I'm peein like a racehorse. But I drink 70-90 0z per day. Keeps me full and I want to pre hydrate before surgery.
  10. I sure hope more ppl come across this thread and POST! I'm still pre op but will definetley be doing my wish list of nips and tucks and researching Docs. No idea. Where to start... Would love to hear some recommendations!
  11. Haven't had my surgery yet. On day 3 of pre op diet. Surgery is Nov. 1st. Driving 9 hours to TJ on Halloween. When is your surgery with Dr. V ? Who's your coordinator? Mines Christy. Love her !
  12. Hey Shea, Can u pls post a pic of the nutritional facts on that? Thanks
  13. Hhmm good question. I guess the consensus is NOT to shave so u don't in tease risk of infection. Good to know. I probably would have run a razor of my legs the night before. Now I won't. Good luck.
  14. Oh my gosh, I get that way before any surgery I've ever had. When I had my carpal tunnel surgery, I started to panic, so I quickly advised the anesthesiologist that he better "put me under" NOW before I chicken out. So glad I went ahead and did it. You'll do great. We're all sending you possitive energy... Best wishes! You got this!
  15. Omg those clear flavored broths look delicious! Great find! Yum. Beats the heck out of reg broth which I loath! Thanks for sharing!
  16. Woo hoo Kayla! So excited for you! Keep us posted, best wishes for all the success and a speedy recovery! You go girl !
  17. I'm not until December 16, so not counting days as of yet Armando, are you using Dr. Ariel Ortiz or Dr. Elias Ortiz? Using Dr Louisianna Valensuela/ Mi doctor/ Marriott thru Mexico Bariatric Center.
  18. COUNTDOWN, People! How many days Til your surgery??? I'm on the final stretch now. Day 3 of 14 day pre op. 11 days left. You??? Too bad there's not a fast forward button!
  19. Agreed, self sabbotage is such a prevelent, counter productive demon. No more of that for me, ever! Done.
  20. Oh, great additions you guys! Lots of great advice and tips. I was already looking for some variety today on my third day so I added a pkg of mango peach crystal light to my vanilla Protein shake, blended with some ice. MAN that was GOOD!
  21. Oh and another perk/benefit to the pre-op diet... Is the weight loss! Nothing like jump starting your slimming process! And anything I can do to lower the risk factor and make the surgery less complicated for my doc the better. (Shrink that liver!)
  22. Awesome! Congrats in advance :-) I will be just getting into puréed foods, 19 days post op when you're getting sleeved. November cannot come soon enough!
  23. When I first started researching the sleeve and medical tourism ... I kept seeing Dr Almanzas name and all his happy patients. I'm sure you're in good hands! I just couldn't do the strip mall thing so I researched further and am going with a doc that operates at a real hospital. But honestly... Jerusalem Hospital does not have a bad rep. In fact there was only one Operating facility that I found to have bad reports and that was Nova Hospital. The comments were that it really was not suited for Medical Tourism. (I'm sure some ppl have had good experiences there, but many had not). You'll be fine. He's super experienced!!!!
