    Any september 2013 sleevers?

I was sleeved Sept. 17th, started at 250 and I am down 57 pounds. The weight loss slowed in January when I began working out 4-5 times per week. I have only lost about 10 pounds in the last 3 months. BUT, I am not getting too worried. The closer you get to goal, the slower the weight loss. I only have about 25 more realistically (35 more ideally) to lose. I am working out (I need to kick up my strength training) and doing what I can, and that is what I am concentrating on. With that being said though, I do struggle with getting too comfortable and sometimes I really need to review the basics. I never go nuts, but there is always room for improvement (i.e taking the cheese off of the slice of pizza if i have it, measure more frequently instead of eyeballing, etc.). I do have a question though.....how much do you think you are eating per meal? 1/2 cup, 3/4 cup, 1 cup, 1 slice pizza? Any thoughts on that would be helpful!
  2. Hello! In month 4 post op (January), I began a weight loss team program at the gym that involves an hour of cardio (with some strength exercises built in) 3 times a week and I usually add 1-2 times additonal. My weight loss has halted compared to before (7 pounds since the beginining of January). I am about 25-30 lbs. away from a realistic goal. I also have not been drinking enough Water, my mistake! BUT, why would the weight loss slow completely when I am now working out? Has anyone had that happen to them? I know I am gaining muscle, losing fat, etc. but I would still think the numbers would budge a bit more (ex. 2 lbs per week, etc.). I know it is not about the "number" and I should really only concentrate on the % fat that I am losing, but it would be nice to see it go down more. Am I being unrealistic?
  3. Hello! Weeks 3-6 I lost 3 lbs. per week. Weeks 7 and 8 , a total of 1.5. Is this a normal time for a stall? Anyone else experienced this? I have been working out and may have a nibble here and there, but not enought to account for 1.5 lbs lost compared to a normal of 6 in two week time frame. Help!
  4. Hi! Had surgery on 9/17. Just curious what and how much people are eating. I find that yogurt does down..no problems. When I eat solid food, I get a "full" feeling after a couple of small bites (not even an ounce) but I eat more because I wouldnt be getting anywhere near the 65 g. of protein. The feeling doesn't get worse until I eat a couple of ounces (volume not weight) and I know it is time to stop. Does anyone get that "full" feeling after a 2 or 3 bites of food, that stays that way until you eat a couple of ounces? Does that go away?
  5. So encouraging for those of us who are only 3 weeks out! You look amazing! Congratulations!

    Regretting surgery

I had my surgery on the 17th of Sept. so I am just a bit ahead of you (at 2 1/2 weeks). Even though I am still tired and trying to figure things out, I feel MUCH better than I did at 1 week. I feel pretty much back to my old self, accept for the changes on the eating side. I have become more used to the liquids and eating the 1oz portions of food and looking forward to my 3 week check and expanded soft food diet. I am not saying I don't have my moments (like laughing with my hubby because every commercial is food related and I just want to take a big bite of anything), but I know in the end this will be positive. So, just HANG IN THERE!!!!!! I know exactly how you feel, and it has gotten better day by day!
  7. Thank you so much for the advice so far. I really appreciate it. I have done alot of research, but sometimes those little things that you didn't know get ya so what better people to ask then you all! I am sure to keep up with this forum from this point forward.
  8. Hello! This is my first post since becoming a member. I am going to be sleeved on the 17th of this month by Dr. Snyder in Denver. Needless to say, I am super nervous but know that this is the best option for me. What are some things you wish you knew before surgery that would have made the experience after surgery easier (recommendations, items on hand, suprises in the process, etc.)? Thank you!

    Colorado, anyone?

I am having my surgery on the 17th of this month with Dr. Snyder. I have visited with other docs in the area, and Dr. Snyder was the one for me! I have not heard one single negative comment anywhere about him. All glowing and positive reviews. He trains other doctors in the field. Good luck!
