Guerml95 got a reaction from Justjoan in HELP! I'm not losing weight
I was sleeved on 6/10. I hit a stall in my second week, came here for comfort. This is a normal occurrence as so many people have expressed. Please do not feel stress and try to enjoy this as much as possible right now. We are still in the early stages and this is a life changing process that takes time. You are doing wonderfully. Make sure to just keep at it and follow those doctor recommendations!

    Hello Sleevers!!!
My name is Mike. I was sleeved on 6/10/14. Currently down about 21 since surgery. Finally getting my energy back!!!
I was always told NOT to weigh yourself everyday, as the body fluctuates quite a bit especially in the early stages after surgery. However, I just can't help myself from stepping on every morning LOL. I experienced a stall in my second week, but reassured myself it would pass (which it did). So this AM I weighed myself and I was up 1.8 from yesterday. I am not concerned, but just curious to see if other people have experienced this fluctuation and if anyone else shares this similar addiction . Please feel free to add me as a friend I am looking for newbies and experienced members!!!!
    Thanks so much!
    Mike

    Hi Mike,
I, too, step on the scales each and every day! I was sleeved in March and am about 10 pounds from where I would love to be. Hope you have a wonderful ride on the losing side of the bench!
    Happy Losing,

Guerml95 got a reaction from jajmj in how soon can we do protein bars?
    Hello!
My surgeon had me starting me on Protein shakes (I use whey protein) and I blend it with a cup of milk and 4 or 5 ice cubes. I had to do this 2x a day but now down to one. They have some yummy flavors like strawberry and Peanut Butter cup! I use body fortress!! Did your doctor mention anything about a Protein supplement? And by that I mean the powder to make shakes?

Right after surgery, I weighed daily. It became an obsession. I would be so upset when it didn't move or when it move up a few ounces.
Now I am a weekly weigher. I weigh in on Tuesday mornings. I find I like this much more. The scale almost always moves down a little (and sometimes a lot!) and I don't focus so much on the weight loss.
One of the reasons I had my surgery was so I could stop obsessing over my weight. I know I'm losing, I don't have to track every lost ounce :-)

Not only do I watch the scale everyday, I bought two scales because I thought my first one was lying to me! I only record my weight on Fridays though. I have yet to see the scale go backwards. I'm fascinated how much weight u can lose after a good bathroom break...hehehe!

I usually weigh twice a day. Once in the morning and then again before bed. I usually don't allow a small gain to bother me. It just motivates me to go workout and/or be more conscious of what I'm eating, ie. Protein first, drinking all my Water, etc. It keeps me accountable.

I'm looking for a group of people who will be having sleeve surgery in the next 2-3 weeks to share the journey with! I just turned 30 last month, and I am really looking forward to this huge life change. I'm 5'7 and currently at 294 (down from 332 when I first visited my surgeon 2 months ago). I'm just ready to feel better, and have more energy to be a more lively mom to my 9 year old nephew!
