I am scheduled for the 1st of October was originally the 20th of sep but had to be moved due to scheduling issues! Really looking forward to it! I am from Australia!

10 days post surgery today
Starting weight 266 pre op diet
Surgery weight 263
Today's weight 243
Total loss 23 lbs so far.
Goal weight 180.
It's so surreal. Losing weight and always thinking tomorrow I will wake up and have gained it all back.
Congrats to all my fellow September sleevers!!! Drs. F/u tomorrow can't wait to see and talk to him and the steps!!

Milked-down yogurt is a good option for the liquid phase. Also chicken stock, beef stock, bonox, Vegemite in Water etc. Salty things to balance out all the sweet stuff. You can stir plain Protein Powder into things. Just don't put it into anything too hot or it will curdle. I found that alternating hot and cold helped too.

If possible try t have a variety of sweet as well as savoury Protein options during this phase. meat & vege Soups blended and watered down are good. They fill you up and keep any hunger at bay for a while. Variety helps during this stage. I made a list of possible options for the early stages and had the ingredients on hand, so maybe doing similar will help you too.

So 6 days post op now slowly starting to feel more human now!
Saw my gp today had the dressings taken down sites all looking good told I could take some peppermint oil caps to help with gas! Found real chicken broth is nice during my post op time! Finding stuff to mix up and that I will tolerate during this Fluid stage hard!

Should be going down to surgery in around an hour. Eeeeek!! Really feeling nervous now!

Can anyone tell me if peppermint de gas tablets are okay to have after being sleeved?
I was sleeved on the 1st of October! Had lots of gas from both ends and after the leak test had the runs but that seems to have ended now.
I am still feeling like an invalid but hey I am drinking more each day and feeling a little more better each day so just have to take it one step at a time!

Went to my 1 month post appointment Tuesday. Heeling fine and getting my energy back.
I'm down 15 lbs post op (total of 44lbs since starting my 6 month diet). Very excited that I've dropped 2 pant sizes and 1 shirt size since surgery.

Well I am home three days after surgery two nighs begging docs to let me home day 1 post op I was very nauseas and tired no real sleep both nights in a four bed room with noisy room mates and noisy nurses (although I couldn't feel more highly of the nursing staff looks after me wonderfully)!
Glad to be home and looking forward to sleeping in my own bed tonight! And hopefully feeling better soon! Thanks for all your support!

Well today is my day due in at the hospital at 700am slept okay till 230 then have tossed and turned and dozed since! Wind is really bad in melbourne so that is to partially blame for my lack of sleep! Lol
I am excited to have this done little nervous but hey I guess that's normal!

I told everyone that would listen before and after - even shop assistants! I only had one negative reaction and the comment was they thought it was too drastic - I also had a phone call from one not so close friend which was a bit strange trying to talk me out of the surgery about a week before my op! However, like you, I was fully committed so nothing was going to change my mind - I knew I was doing the right thing for me! The first person has never commented on my weight loss so I get the impression that they think I did it the 'easy' way and didn't put the hard yards in! The other not so close friend did complement me - I think they were fearful of the operation not against what it was going to achieve.
All other people were supportive as they could tell that this is what I wanted - I think everyone is bit scared for you regarding the surgery - hell I was nervous about that too!
The sort of comments I got were - you are so brave and you are so determined and committed (if you can survive the pre-op diet then that is what I call commitment!).
Anyway, here I am 15 months later sitting at around 60kg (goal was 65) and maintaining and happy as a pig in you know what....no one has told me that I did the wrong thing!

When I started telling friends at work (they will notice when I am not there and I decided it was easier to tell them than try make something up!) I was blown away by the support that I received! I have now told most people I know and am loving the support I am going to have during this process! I decided for me this was the best way and I am glad I did it this way, however it is everyone's own personal decision what to say!
