  1. Hi guys, drinking my water today. I've had to resort to setting a timer for myself. when it goes off - 49 mins I have to drink another 12 oz of water.... I am hoping to get more in this way... as when I am tight, I don't feel much hunger, but I also don't feel much thirst... weird... Is anyone else this way??? Just Peachy
  2. I never was asked to wear a compression bra, just a CLOSE FITTING Sports Bra... there were no CUPS or wires... just a comfortable thing, mostly lycra and elastic... I wore that for 6 weeks then went to the Dr. for check up... I don't think I wore an Official Bra again for 3 months. But it was SO worth it!~~ Good luck
  3. You can go to any 12 step meeting if its a OPEN meeting, just specify YOUR addiction as food. They are very nice people and will make you welcome. You can buy lots of literature at an AA meeting, specific OA material you'd have to get at an OA meeting or posibly order ONLINE... try WWW.OA.org I was a member for 4+ years and prior to banding, was the only thing that really helped me with my weight issues... funny I found that there was WAY more I needed to deal with than my weight... mostly relationship, fear, trust, self worth issues... sound familiar??? Good luck
  4. Hee,hee, hee still laughing at myself here.
  5. I disagree, Lapband and sex reassignment surgery should BOTH be covered by our Universal Health Care System. We pay HUGE taxes in this country to accommodate this. Yes, being in a fat body for 40 yrs is torture. ( I am 53) but I'll be honest here, my poor eating habits and dislike of exercise and a Sh!tload of DENIAL is what got me here... get real! People needing Gender Reassignment surgery did not ASK to be born into the wrong bodies... there is nothing they could do about it.
  6. Please don't kill me for saying this, but you are not supposed to lose weight in the four wks post surgery. This time is for healing. We all eat a bit too much once our appetites come back. Now, once you get your first fill, you may not have sufficient restrition until fill 2, 3 or #4... that's when you'll start losing. Take it slow, patience is whats required now. You didn't put this weight on overnight, and it won't come off overnight either. The thing is with the BAND, you'll never put it on again... Beauty!!
  7. but where on earth do I find this EEvo ??? is it a Fat free margarine or something like it??? I don't think I've ever seen it in Canada... perhaps I'll have to buy a case of it when I come to M of A... and truck it back across the border. By the way how is your D=I=L ?? Is she healing o.k. ?? I've thought about her often.
  8. Mothers are just goofy!! Yours sounds like mine, when I am dieting she is all "ooh are you sure your eating enough?" then when I am in Pig out mode she is like " honey, is that your second or third piece of cake?" "why don't you just save some for tomorrow"... ARGH!!! You look just lovely, I've seen your pictures... and I have no bias and no reason to lie to you.. so relax you are beautiful just the way YOU are RIGHT now. I went to see an old friend yesterday, have coffee and a chat she says "wow, you are really doing well with your weight loss!" (she dosn't know I've been banded) what do you weigh now 150??? {I wish} No ,I said in the "180's" but it was sure nice to hear anyways!!
  9. Jill must have changed the Pre-op diet since last July... All I was allowed was yogurt and cottage cheese... no chicken or vegies. And I was on it for 2 weeks... I still can't eat cottage cheese... it makes me gag and gets stuck easily now.. Good luck on Thursday:tt2:
  10. I am a self pay too, however to say that a Sex change operation is not Medically necessary is a tad unkind and an uneducated statement. These unfortunate people are born into the wrong body... Gender is not always Black & White... there is a huge GREY area. A gentleman that worked for my husband became a woman in her 40's... Can you imagine the torture it would be to go around in the WRONG body for 40 years!!!! We all need INSURANCE coverage for our necessities.
  11. Hello Bandster Friends; I tried to post this on the TLBC message board but had no luck... so here goes. ANYONE banded (or soon to be) that would like to get together for a Lunch/Support get-to-gether ???? Please POST here or PM me for my phone number... I am thinking of all of us folks NORTH of the GTA... Owen Sound, Midland, Barrie, Orillia, Gravenhurst, Huntsville, Alliston..... yada,yada.. you get the idea.. Anyways, I have gone to several luncheons in Toronto and met some fabulous folks... but it's one heck of a drive... So I was thinking of meeting mid-way point either Barrie or Orillia.... Come back to me folks. Peaches:tt2:
  12. Quick question for everyone; does your "stomach" throb when you are eating??? I get this now and again.... Now I know that once I start burping while eating, its my band's signal to STOP eating... but what's with the throbbing??? Candice
  13. O.k. I'll try again.... Janet, how do you cook your scallops???? This "SITE" is pissing me off won't let me post:sneaky:
  14. Oh Denise I am so sorry you are experiencing this, you are right it is horrible... have you got any gaviscon or maloxx?
  15. DEAR LINDA: wow you lucky dog you... I love Mexico... and guess what? Its a long weekend for us "Canadians" too.. Its Queen Victoria's Birthday and we celebrate it on May 24 or the closest weekend to it.... YEAH!!! Have a blast on your holiday, and its only 7 days so whatever damage you do eating and drinking it'll come off fast once you are home... You have lost so much weight, I'll bet you don't even take advantage of the Buffet's... HUGS and HAVE FUN! Hi Salsa; You are right, WE HATE to hear about ALL the food you get to eat!!! but then hey! you are WORKING your BUTT off... so you need those calories to rebuild your body and muscles... ITS FUEL, not garbage that you are eating. Now for calorie dense foods, hummm have you tried Guacamole? It is a GOOD fat, from vegetable source.. My Late MIL used to make a salad at Xmas time half of a ripe avocado, take out pit, and fill with Shrimp/crab meat/mayo mixure... very yummy and high protien... might do the trick. Also, use real cream in your sauces over pasta... and add NUTS... they are also a dense calorie food, but have GOOD fats in them omega's and such... Also, instead of cooking and sauteeing your food in PAM use real olive oil... The cals will add up... Good luck with that.. and don't be hard on yourself... compare yourself to a HUMMER or Cadillac... needs premium grade fuel right? Well, we that are still trying to lose are those Hybrid economy cars that use less gas... get it???
  16. I am SO looking forward to meeting you all... It's only a little over 2 months away.... don't expect me to be skinny but I'll be a lot healthier than I was a year ago... BP is coming down... so that's a NSV.. No Dairy Queen's lately (since my last Yuk-up) that was aweful... Mother's Day celebrations left me making some bad food choices, but I am getting back on track this week. Hugs to everyone
  17. I havn't been on here in about a week. Company for Mothers Day ... Janet, OMG what a terrible shock to your family. I pray that everything heals o.k. and that they catch the Bast@rd who did this!!!
  18. Sheesh I don't sign in for a couple of days and I miss everything!!!
  19. Oh Phyl, your "smilie" looks like he is PB'ing and then falling down from weakness.... I had another long drive to Toronto today for a fill. WHen I got there the Nurse said OH, I'll give you 1 cc....:confused2: OMG no not that much!! She gave me 0.5cc last time so I wouldn't agree to any more than that again... and I am TIGHT... I can get down water, but VERY slowly. I had a bowl 3/4 cup of soup tonight and then some popsycles... I was having a yen for Pistachios so I counted 47 out, only ate 1/4 of them and PB'd.... dah!!! After all it is supposed to be ONLY liquids today... But I just wanted something salty... it was good :frown: that it didn't work. I am down another lb. pretty soon I'll be able to update my ticker at the bottom!!!!:tt2:
  20. You have the same sized band as I do 10cc.'s but my fill nurse said that they'll actually hold 11 or 12 cc's... weird huh? My band is a French Mid-Band. I go for another fill tomorrow, I probably wont' need much as I got 1/2 cc (0.5) last time... we'll see how it goes. ALL THE OTHER GALS - Sorry I've been missing in action I've been busy yest. and today at work... I got some new px and my schedule is filling up agian YEAH!!! Phyl, I am glad your DD has come around - she should appreciate having such a FANTASTIC Mom like YOU
  21. Orillia, Wasaga Beach and Haliburton.... Orillia is kinda in the Middle... lets PM each other with details.
  22. Linda: That is fantastic news on your Son's accomplishment. I opt for the shopping trip to Milwaukee too... Shopping is always FUN, FUN, FUN:regular_smile: Yes, I was happy that I stuck to good eating habits this weekend, I am sure it'll pay off on Monday morn. weigh in.:frown: Oh Jackie, I totally get where you are coming from, I won't go gamble again now for quite a while, I've been really lucky this year 2008 and I don't want to press my luck. I think the reason I won was cause I was down doing a "good hearted" painting job for my BF... as a favor.. it turned out really well and she loves it. What goes around comes around:thumbup: Phyl, I am so sorry you got the flu stay in bed and don't rush getting around and doing... Let hubby wait on you hand and foot.!!!
  23. I had a great day yesterday, finished my painting job. went out for dinner with my BF ( you dirty girs, that's my Best Friend LOL) I had a drink, but for supper I had Calamari(squid) which I split with my BF and a Greek Salad, which I also split... No dessert!!! Then we went to the Casino and I won $700  :frown: :w00t: so now my M of A trip is all PRE PAID for..... Have a super day everyone!
  24. :biggrin2: Oh my Gosh, Stephanie, you poor thing! Better check with the Pharmacist before you take any cold medications/decongestants again.. You must be super sensitive to them... Try a nice cup of Camomile tea tonight before bed to calm you down. At least tomorrow is Sat and you'll be able to sleep in Eh???
  25. You are so right!!! I DO NEED to stay out of the Demon Drivethru's...argh!! Its just like wow, you have some willpower and wham there's another one right down the GD street. Its a conspiracy to keep Americans/Canadians all fat!!!! So Salsa, how much do you have to pay for each Dr. visit? Just curious O.k. drinking my water now... I've had a coffee, 1/2 cup oatmeal, and 16 oz of water. I am getting my exersise in by painting my BF Bathroom... but that's a whole other post:mad:
