  1. Oh Dear Janet, I would NEVER ignore you!!! I am just a little embarrased about my food choices of late. BUT I did get my Ass out of the quilting chair today and take my TWIG for a nice Peppy walk... I even jogged a few minuted... Karri are you paying attention!!! You are my fitness HERO!!! I will try to do more. Karri, I also will keep my fingers crossed for your School administrators to do the right thing... Hugs to you, I know this must be a stressful time. Phyl, A loss, you go girl... you are so consistant!!! Perhaps I should have EARL talk to Peter about watching ME like a hawk.... I'd hate it but it would be best for me. I amcheating way too much. I got a little note from our "Linda" today she's cooking for an army this weekend. I am off to my DD's tomorrow for Easter it will be nice to see the kids.
  2. Oh Phyl, I love the Avitars of candy Bars... too cute. But seriously, Don't the staff in the Nursing home "supervise" what the residents eat??? It will definetly be hard to curb your Mom's indulgences with the co-hort in her room sabotaging things... I am glad though that you found her a place to live where she will get care. This is too much healthcare for you to provide at your home, and with your career too... I don't know your Mom, but MY Mom didn't want to Live with any of her children... She likes her autonomy and is quite independant even with her physical limitations. I got her a hired nurse to help her dress in the mornings, well Mom fired her... I tried to help, but they gotta WANT it right? Its a fine balance that we have to tread when we are the PARENT of our PARENTS... Oh the sandwich generation, that's us. HUGS to you Denise, and stay strong.
  3. I watched IDOL last night, but I can't relmember which one is ADAM???? what song did he sing.???? I can't stand the blind guy, I don't like his voice at ALL!! I like Nanooop, he's my fav. Janet'; yeah, 3 things coming up!!! France, the Lucky 7's, and the WEDDING.... I gotta get my sh!t together again... I've been off the wagon since Mexico... I didn't gain anything while away... but I've been making up for it since! O.k. after Easter weekend!!!
  4. Fantastic loss, keep up the good work!!
  5. Have you tried taking your dose in Smaller increments. For example if I take 200 mg Zoloft, I get my dr to write the script for 4 x 50mg pills then they are SMALLER. Much easier to swallow. But then right after my surgery, I OPENED the Zoloft capsule and put it in my Protien Shake. Welbutrin is round but not too big. I have no problem swallowing Serquil at all. I take 3 - 100mg pills nightly.
  6. Glad you are back on posting Janet; we missed you. What ports did you stop at on your cruise???
  7. YOu are smart to get back on your anti-depressant. There are many, and each affect folks differntly. I have tried Welbutrin and didn't gain any weight on it... I currently and weining off of Zoloft as my Dr. is switching me to Seraquel... Seraquel has been approved for treating depression in Bipolar people... so I may be able to go to a Mono-therapy... YEAH! The Zoloft makes me sun sensitive, so I'll be happy to be off those. Plus, mentally I am feeling really fine and liking the Seraquel... it really helps me to sleep as well. Good luck to you in what ever method you choose. Peaches
  8. O.k. now its time to catch up. Stephanie; I am sorry to have to decline the Quilt making. I am up too my eyeballs in requests right now. I am working on completing my 4th quilt of this Winter... Its a double bed size. Not meant for anyone in particular.. just making it. THen, My DS wants to commission me to make a queen size for my Nephew and his wife. THen I have the queen size that I've been meaning to make(finish) for my guest room bed... Yellow and Navy... I will support you in your charity run... but it will probably just be with $$$ Janet; glad you had a super time on your cruise... You DO know how to have fun.... glad you taught those young'ins a thing or two. PHyl; how's your foray into the pool antics going? No more nasty remarks from the ol' biddies? You just set them straight o.k.? Car; Thanks I got the invoice, will probably look after that on payday... I am getting so excited about FRANCE... my daughter is trying to convince me to buy a rail pass as well... so we can visit Spain and other (Northern) parts of France... I don't know... the beach sounds good enough for me!!! Plus I LOVE history, so I plan on seeing all the museaums and art galleries that I can. oh yeah, and the WINERIES!!!!!! Karla; Glad you are home safe and sound. You are at an exciting time in BANDSTER life right now.. all the anticipation for upcoming weight loss... and just think You will NOT have to gain/lose, gain/lose ever again... It will be a completly DOWNWARD SPRIRAL!!! YEah,,, that is the best thing about being banded... although I am a slow loser, I at least don't go back up!!!! I am down 65 lbs that are NEVER coming back... Yippee.... I am so happy for you. Only one word of advise.... (sorry I know you didn't ask) do not eat any of your old binge foods...... don't even taste.... just keep up with your suggested eating menus from your surgeon... you'll do great. Karri; I am so proud of you, your running and excersise... you have inspired me... I am walking/running(a tiny bit) on the treadmill at gym... my daughter has taken up a run/walk routine as well... I am just going to set a minute timer and run everyonce in a while... I only worry about running cause of all the Pelvic Floor surgeries that I havd had over the years. Don't want to mess that up, but I'd like to BURN the calories that you get with jogging???? Anyone got any ideas??? Linda; I know you are lurking GF... I am anxiously waiting to see you agian in JULY... less than 4 mos away you know!!! Is all the Ice and crappy dirty snow melting in WIsconcin??? It must be as ours is going away too.. I can actually see my front lawn again (its dead and brown looking) but I saw croccus's coming out of the dirt in the back yard yesterday!!! YEAH, SPRING!!!! Canadians get absolutly delerious this time of year.. we start walking around in shorts etc.... we are CRAZY. Donna; our little adopted BABY, how are you doing??? We are so glad that you joined our squad of losers!!!! Denise; HUGS to you GF and keep your chin up. Kari; in Michigan... where are you????? Enjoy your meltdown too... Let me know what the 1st thing you see in your garden come up... Any birds back??? I saw a ROBIN last week... my DH says I was llying... can you beleive it??? 12. Hey CramerK; that weight loss so far is AWESOME! You are gonna ROCK this lapband thing girl. I know the postop diet really sucks but it helps your body to heal from the surgery. Don't blow it whatever you do... these 4 wks post op are very important to healing the BAND into the tissues around your stomach.. remember this is a LIFETIME lifestyle change and you are off to a good start! I am glad you liked your Dr. Ortiz, Mx they really do have their Sh!t together. HUGS, C
  13. Yeah, Janet's back!!! We missed you gal
  14. I am going to put my Mexico pictures (total) on Face Book. but here are a couple
  15. By the time you read this you must already be in Mexico. RELAX... they are very professional there, I have read many great reviews of Dr. Ortiz on these pages. Plus as you've read I just had extensive dental work done there.. Awesome, would do it again in a heart beat, Plus I saved a ton of money. Good luck with your surgery, check in with us if you can get to a cyber cafe.
  16. Denise: I think the best place for your Mom is in the hospital, that way they will get to the bottom of her sugar, and get it under control... Poor doll... Welcome CRAMERK, any friend of Steph's is a friend of ours!! I am just now back from Mexico, I've been up since 3a.m. to catch the 6 a.m. to Dallas, and then onto Toronto.. Then there is the 2 hrs drive from T.O. airport to the "Beach".. It was so nice to touch down in CANADA!!! It was a great trip, but it sure makes you appreciate HOME!!! My DH showed up at the airport to meet me, turns out he is in T.O. on business this week and is staying at the Sheraton/right IN the airport... how cool was that? So I was able to drive my OWN car home... he'll catch a ride later in the week with a cohort. I managed to learn a little Espanol... it was fun practising and my DS friends were very gratious with my attempts. It was good for a few laughs that's for sure. My "teeth" look great! I am so glad that I made this trip, I figure with flight, dentist, meals etc that I saved $2,000 U.S. on the work. PLus, I am going to put the receipts on my 2009 Income Tax return as a dedection. Now, tomorrow I have to get back on PROGRAM and re-start journaling my FOOD/Excercise. I['ll post pictures later gals, Luv Peaches
  17. Oh Denise, I am so sorry your cold has turned worse for you... How is your Mom today? Have they had any new information on her condition or what they can do to help her? Oh by the way the ladies are talking about a Run/walk for Cancer thing in the Fall. Stephanie is the ring leader on this, so contact her. I am still in Rio Verde Mexico. Final appt with the dentist today. He cemented in my four crowns. They look awesome, he even straightened out my front teeth with the porcelain crowns. Look really good, so I´ll post some pictures when I get my camera emptied out once I get home on Sunday. Today I am playing tourista now that all the work is done on my mouth.. Lots of beautiful pictures to take of this town. I am missing home though, wann a see my Petie and pouches. I slept with my sisters dog ¨Morgan¨ but he is big and takes up the whole bed. Plus its too hot to cuddle with dogs here... Mucho color! I am completely broken out in Sun Bumps and itchy, so I am wearing a long sleeve shirt today plus my ever present Sambrero... but still its a lot better than Canada temperatures right now LOL. Hugs to all, Stephanie, take a nap girl and stop working around the House!!
  18. Oh Stephnie I am glad to hear that your´feeling so good. SITTING ON YOUR BED? that is awesome... I am so glad that surgery is behind you babe. Don´t worry now about Canada, Leave it in Gods hands... I´ll bet something just works out so that you can come. We´d miss you!! Phylñ I am so excited for you, getting your PS consult.. Whoo-hoo for you girl... keep on rockin' I´ll keep my fingers crossed for you. Janet is on the coast of Mexico by now having a blast I am sure! I´ll bee excited to hear all about her trip Well my fillings are finished, just the crown fitting tomorrow to go... yeah-ha then I´ll be done with the Dentist. They are so lovely here, he even brought in his neice to speak English to me... isn´t that sweet.. and really his(Dr) english is pretty good... between hand gestures, models of teeth, and scherades we´´ve understood each other pretty well. Yest, one of my sisters Mexican lady friends had us over for ¨coffee¨ in the afternoon... well her house was marvelous, elegant and spacious... She made us cocktails, then Mexican Lasagne, then a HUGE homemade >Cake.... I had to have some, but I chewed very carefully, as half my face was still frozen! She had all her children there to meet us , it was really nice.... Her husband was home from work )siesta time) so I got to meet him too... the whole family. Very nice . BUT, they keep their dogs outside!!!! all the time.. I didn´t like that, I wanted to go out in the back yard and play with them!!! Just a difference in culture I guess.. Pets are pets, humans are humans.... I spoil my dogs, they are my bambinos. The hostess, Norma asked me how many children I had.. I said Uno,, she looked puzzled... also my sister only has one child too. So she asked me why Canadians don´t have bigger families... it seemed weird to her... we all just laughed... Said our Cdn husbands just weren´´t that sexy..... She laughed her head off at that one... Also this conversation is a lot of hand language and the odd word english and for me the odd word in Spanish... it was fun. They all had to hug and kiss me adios! Then we had to come home and make dinner for my BIL cause he was starved by then.( he came home to an empty house) Keybourd here is weird Typing is a real effort. I am waiting for my SIster and her friend Olivia to pick me up.... I guess I got out of the dentists office earlier than they thought. hopefully more later, Peaches
  19. Happy Birthday Denise  :huh2: Peaches
  20. Awesome news, Phyl... I am glad Earl aquiesed. Tell him also that the DENTIST in Mexico has been a great experience for me... ALSO, my girlfriend is highschool is a Doctor in Toronto, On. and she went to MExico for her facelift and boob job.... she is cheap... but also wanted QUALITY WORK done... she swears by the Mexican surgeons that she had... So I´´d do my research, just like the folks all did for Lapband and make an educated decision, not one based on fear. I flew ALL BY MYSELF to Mexico.... no worries. SIster and DH picked me up at airport no problelmo.. My only hitch was I was bringing a bottle of Canadian Maple Syrup to my sisters Mexican GF... I had it wrapped in a double <Zip lock bag in my checked luggage--- when I got here it had been all opened up... guess they were searching for drugs on a single lady traveling alone... I had to describe to one customs (U.S.) official exaclty what a Laser Therapist did.... can you beleive it??? I even offered to show him my pay stub. Mexicans, no problem. Love you guys, and see you soon. Candice in Mexico ( Rio Verde)
  21. Boy, I sound like a spoiled brat! Went to Cuba in Dec, went to Las Vegas in Jan, now Mexico in March.... I sure can't complain about not getting around eh? Peter is staying home to watch the dogs, and work... he is kinda pouting the last couple of days... ah well, I'll have to bring him home a present! But no tequila, he hates that! 175 on the scale this morning!! Now, I just have to stay on the straight and narrow next week. My sister has a computer so there is no excuse to not logging into SparkPeople.com and tracking my food. 35 lbs to go!~
  22. That is awesome, if you and Linda went together@!! Janet; have fun on your cruise. I'll be away next week... going to MEXICO to get my teeth done... saveing $2000
