Good Morning, Friends! Just have a few minutes and thought I would check in! I have a Wedding Shower Brunch to go to at 11 today! Never went to a Brunch Shower, so this should be interesting, lol! I have been working frantically on getting my classroom and all the paperwork ready for the first day of school, which for the students is this coming Weds, but for teachers Inservices are Monday and Tuesday! Once we get the first month under our belt, things should really start slowing down! Just very hectic right now, lol! Plus, everytime I think I have something done ... somebody at the school decides to change it, UGH!!! I got my first fill on Weds. and it went very well! A little prick, while standing up, in front of the fluoroscope/x-ray machine. Kind of cool to watch it ... doc put 5 cc in first, but too obstructed, pouch bulged and no fluid went through the band, then he tried 4cc and same thing. So I ended up with 3cc and he said he thinks it is a good fit. I was on clear liquids that evening (I had it done at 4PM). Then mushies the next day. Then regular foods. So far, can't really tell a whole lot of difference, but haven't really "tested" it!

I am sure you did a wonderful job! Loving them is tough, but full of rewards! Some day they will understand just how difficult it was all those years and look back and "admire" the way we handled it!!! At least, that is what I am hoping for, lol! It is a shame that there are soooo many things in the world that we have to anticipate and prepare them for! It's a shame that the world can be such a nasty place to grow up in!

Not sure, NewCC, but certainly hope we lose those "food demons!" I like how food "tastes!" I don't eat to survive, but rather for enjoyment and pleasure! I so have to lose that mindset!!!! WE are all in that one together!

IndioGirl, Nah, none of that for me! Not sure who else posted that, but I am much more of an "Everyday, Common Knowledge" Person, lol! Hence, teaching the 4 year olds, even they stump me sometimes, lol!!!!

Yeah, I get those hiccups too! Actually, they aren't anything anyone would notice, but a small one and I KNOW I am done! Kind of strange! Wondering if that will be more pronounced once I get my fill!! Probably will be, huh?

Holy Cow, Girl!!!! YOU got your hands FULL ... those are tough ages!!! At least they were for me! Those were the ages that I was NEVER right, they had ALL the answers, and loved to prove it to me!!! God Bless YOU, lol!!!! Still, sometimes, now that mine are 21 and 23, I wish I would have taken a little more time to enjoy those ages! They went by so fast, but some of it, I think is necessary, because all of those disagreements we had, made them into pretty nice, responsible, adults! They are definitely able to think for themselves, lol!!

Lynette, nice to know! You haven't had any trouble with food being stuck? I have had it w/chicken and turkey, probably 5 or so times already! Hurts like the dickens!!! Radiates across my chest and feels like a heart attack! Seems to happen in the evenings, which is when my willpower tends to be gone!!! So not sure what the deal is! Then just wonder how much worse it will be when I get a fill! So it is nice to know that it really shouldn't get too much worse! I try to eat very slow and chew it to smitherines!!! But still, it happens every now and again! I feel I need a fill, due to the amounts that I am able to eat! How long were you told you should be full between meals? I go 2 to 2 and a half hours, but they said it should be longer. So who knows, lol! Thanks for the info!

Looks like you and I get a fill the same day, lol! I'm hoping it makes a huge difference, lol! Just in time to go back to work!!!!

Laurend, didn't know you taught! I am not anxious to go back! I definitely would NEVER go back if I had to teach what you teach, lol! Molecular, what? LOL Hey, do you have any trouble with food getting stuck or reflux since your fill? Curious if anyone is having trouble with any of those things since their fills? I know Lynette has been filled too! Been reading that is an issue for some people! I am to go for a fill on Weds. afternoon, right now staying full for 2 to 2 and a half hours!

Is the 17 year old your oldest? My girls were quite challenging at that age too, actually still can be at times, lol! They are always right whether they are or not, lol! I know, I keep saying wait til it is their turn to be the mom! I will enjoy that time in my life, lol!!!

Anna, Impressive how you handle your children! It is sooo important that the children feel secure with who they are and you sound so accepting and loving!!! It is nice to hear! Jackie, I am with you on the no weight loss, and also have avoided the scales for fear that they will show a gain! It is soooo hard right now, I guess we just do our best and that has to be good enough!!! Hang in there! Seems like many of us are sharing the same boat, lol!! Gonna scoot on to bed! Kathy, Sorry to hear vacation is over! Always sad when it ends! Just never seems long enough, lol! It is sooo nice that you were able to spend some family time with your DH and children! I wish I could be helpful with the syndromes, but don't know much, except that one of our administrators and one educational professional have a mild form of it. You wouldn't notice it much, except they both have noticeable facial twitches, though both are very different in the twitch itself. Otherwise, you would never know! Now, one of the two, does have some ADHD, but that is about the extent. I wish you the best with that. We will pray that the professionals get things figured out and start treating him in the correct manner! Oh and the popcorn ... I had some the other day too! Didn't think that was supposed to go down, lol! But no problems here! I called today and my doc scheduled my fill for next Weds. So hopefully, that will get me back on track!!!! :help:

I know, it is a shame that there have to be so many ifs and whens, but then there are people that would have it done and really not need it and in that case, it is a different ballgame!!!

How exciting! I wish you the best! Try not to get discouraged, I was received 3 denials before it finally went through, so there is always hope and look at Lynette's surprise with being self pay and all of the sudden, it was paid!!! Hang in there! Let us know if it is a boy or girl!!

I had to do the 6 months Physician guided weight consultations too! What a joke!!! They weigh you and mark it down as a weight consultation! Not much to it, for what it counts for! A shame that other avenues of weight management don't count, doesn't make sense to me!!!

Ahh, sounds like you are well on your way!!! Good for you! Unbelievable the amount for an office visit! I can honestly say that other than my copays, I didn't see a dime being billed to my insurance company! I was a little surprised by that, unless it is all built into the final bill, but if it is, I didn't notice it! Congratulations on the upcoming grandbaby!!! That is just too cool! Will this be your first? I can't wait to have grandchildren! Do you know if you will be having a boy or girl? Either would be fine with me, both would be that much better, lol!!!! Yes, I do understand! I have that fear also, but I also have a "Food Addiction!" I do like food, sad but true! Like one of my banded friends says, "If I could control how much and what I ate, I wouldn't need the band!" That is soooo me! I fight those "I want to eat everything and anything" demons every day! I really hope that someday I am not prone to their influence, lol!!:help:
