My sleeve's name is Stella. So when husband and I are in social settings and the sleeve is giving me issues at times I just say "I heard Stella wasn't feeling well." That's the cue we need to go.

hollywould got a reaction from MCM13 in Help i am 3 weeks post op
I think we need a slow losers club. I would certainly be a member. I'm disappointed too. I thought I would lose a lot more quicker. I'm eating about 700 calories a day and appears I'm on track to lose 2 pounds a week. I know that's considered good in most circles, but after going through such a drastic surgery I thought it would be a better number. I knew it would slow up after a while too. Oh, well. Thanks for posting. Makes me not feel so alone.

Mug/coffee warmer. I bought some tiny dishes that fit on it so my food doesn't get cold.

hollywould got a reaction from Bea Amaya in Why am i not losing weight?
Thanks for posting Bea. It seems most of the posts you read everybody drops tons of weight and fast. I'm about like you are. It's depressing.

hollywould reacted to gamergirl in If you still struggle afterwards, why do it?
I'm very interested to see others' responses to this. For me, I could no longer lose weight on my own, despite severe calorie restriction. And when I did, I always put it back on and it comes back on with several of its friends. Always. My metabolism is severely jacked up and on very low calorie diets, it would slow down to a crawl.
I'm very early out, I'm losing very slowly. But for the first time, I feel like I'm in control and that this might work.
I've always had to be vigilant about food, calories, and carbs. So if I still have to do that--but this time it WORKS--then I'll happily do it.

I'm also getting sleeved on August 19. I'm having mine done here in Northern Michigan by Dr. Nagle. I'd love to be surgery buddies. Do you have to travel far for your surgery?

hollywould reacted to gamergirl in Anyone else having severe stomach aches?
Does it feel like gas pains? It's odd to have them this late but if you're constipated I suppose it's possible?
So sorry you're hurting

hollywould reacted to gamergirl in Post-op Full Liquids Chicken & Mushroom soup 11 gms Protein
Made up this recipe tonight by simplifying a cookbook one. Very rich mushroom flavor. Enjoy!
1 onion sliced thin
3 gloves garlic crushed
4 c mixed fresh mushrooms
1 sweet potato peeled and diced
1lb boneless skinless chicken breast
3 c chicken Stock
Salt
pepper
Dried Oregano & thyme or Poultry Seasoning
2 c Water or broth for pureeing
Simple Recipe: put all ingredients In a pot and boil until chicken is tender (medium low). Purée adding 2 additional c of broth or more.
Slightly more fidgety recipe: Sauté onions and garlic until soft and lightly caramelized. Caramelize sweet potato at the edges. Add remaining ingredients. Pressure cook for 7 mins (high) or cook on stove until chicken is tender (low-medium heat). Purée adding stock to thin as necessary. This is how I made it to get the sweetness and a richer depth of flavor from the veg, but it will taste good either way.
Makes 10 cups. Each c has 1.5 oz of chicken for 11 gms of Protein.
