1. Im 8wks post op Breakfast: 2 light cheese sticks, 1oz of fruit Snack: 1/2 Protein bar Lunch: 2-3oz meat, 1oz of veggies Snack: 1/2 Protein Bar Dinner: 2-3oz protein, 1oz veggie Protein shake before bed. Every once in a while, maybe 1 or 2 times a week, I'll have a starch.
2. I work in a physician's office and I took 3 weeks off. I couldnt lift anything over 10lbs for a month but I work in a very busy OB Gyn office so I dont really have to lift patients. I felt 3 weeks was plenty of time but my manager did let me do phone triage for the first week so I could get back in to the swing of things.
3. Pic on left is HW 224. Middle is at 4wk post op and right was 2 or 3 days ago. Surgery 8/19 and down 40lbs.
4. I bought a size 12 in jeans yesterday!!! Woohooo! Down 40lbs and feeling amazing.
5. I use EAS AdvantEDGE carb control ready to drink. I love the chocolate fudge. Its the consistency of chocolate milk and goes down pretty easy. It only has 17gm of protein per shake though. I'm eating regular food now so I only do 2 to 3 shakes a day depending on how I eat. 24 shakes is 28.00 at Sams.
6. My NUT says no bread for 6 months post op.
7. Pic on left is my hw 224lbs Pic on right is my cw 188lbs
8. Saw my surgeon yesterday for my 1 m9nth post op visit. He was very pleased with my weight loss. I've lost 31% of my excess body weight since July 19th. 11lbs on the 1 month preoperative diet and 23lbs since surgery on August 19th. My BMI has went from 42.7 down to a 36. He told me I was ahead of the curve on my weight loss so not to be surprised if I hit a stall soon. I'm off my insulin shots and back on oral meds for my diabetes and I'm off my bp meds completely. So thankful to be past the regret phase and on to the "I'm so damn glad I did this" phase.
9. I have found that my sleeve will NOT tolerate anything sweet. I made stir fry last night and had it over spaghetti squash. It promptly made a reappearance approx 10 min after I ate it. Tried dipping my pork chop in ketchup tonight just to give it a little extra moisture and it made my stomach hurt. The only vegetable I've been able to eat is english peas, but I tolerate most meats just fine as long as they are plain. I'm never hungry so if I'm going to eat I prefer Protein over anything else. I feel like I need to be adding more veggies and fruit but I just don't want it. Anyone else feeling this way?
10. Height...5'1" HW...224lbs SW...211lbs CW...193lbs Sleeved 8/19/13. Lost 31lbs.
11. Sleeved 8/19. I've lost 31lbs since I started my pre op diet 7/19. 18lbs since surgery. Today I tried on a size 14 skinny jean AND they FIT!!!! I was doing a hapoy dance in the dressing room! Lol! Yay for NSVs!
12. Sleeved August 19th Highest weight July 19th..224lbs Surgery weight Aug 19th..211lbs Current weight Sept 13th..193lbs 31lbs gone for good! Start pureed foods next week! I can't wait.
13. I wish that area was numb. Lol! Its still so sore and I'm over 3 weeks post op. :-p
14. I'm using optisource chewable vitamins. They're the ones my NUT recommended. They're tolerable. I get them down and they don't make me nauseated.
15. Surgery Date 8/19 HW 224 SW 211 CW 194
16. I hit the dreaded 3 week stall last Monday but I just stayed with it. Today I weighed and I've lost 4 lbs. Whoop whoop! I look in the mirror and I'm like...who's the girl with the skinnier face looking back at me?!?! Lol! I've officially lost 30lbs. 13lbs prior to surgery and 17lbs since surgery. My starting weight was 224lbs and I'm 5'1". Current weight 194lbs. I was sleeved 8/19.
17. I was sleeved 8/19. Recovery has been slower than I expected. I had a lot of pain at my largest incision. Couldn't take the pain med because they make me nauseous. I did have some dehydration but a liter of fluid later and I felt much better. I'm getting my fluids and my protein in now and I'm feeling better about my choice to have this surgery. My weight before preop diet was 224lbs. Day of surgery I was 211lbs. My current weight is 196lbs.
18. I'm watching Clemson vs Georgia. This game done tore my nerves up! Lol!
19. Definitely try to stay hydrated. I had a hard time and had to have iv fluids at 9 days post op. 3 days later and I feel much better. Actually met my fluid and protein goal today. If you get behind you won't be able to catch up and it makes you feel horrible.
20. to be watching football without all the junk food! I don't even care that there isn't any, but it just doesn't seem like football season without all the junk! Oh well, welcome to the new normal I guess! Still love me some football!
21. Premier Protein in the chocolate flavor. I tried Pure Protein and Chocolite and both were disgusting!!! The Premier is by far the tastiest...and I dont usually like anything chocolate flavored but they did say our tastes would change after surgery. I bought it at Sams. It has 30gm of protein and only 1gm of sugar. 3.5gm of fat and 160 calories so its a good choice but just be careful if you're lactose intolerant. It has milk in it.
