dlc0963 got a reaction from sweetjam69 in Five months post op - huge stall
I am four months post op. Down 60 lbs and have also encountered a stall. I am going back to a semi liquid food plan for a few days to see if I can get past this phase. Fingers crossed it works.

dlc0963 got a reaction from CrazyJaney in fear of failing
My first few weeks I was definitely afraid that I would be the only person in history not to loose weight from the sleeve. After a few weeks I started to set in and feel good. Now that I'm three months out and am able to eat a little more, that fear has returned that I'll go backwards and not loose any more or gain it back. I think their will always be a part of me that will be afraid. A lifetime of struggle doesn't go away quickly. To bad they can't surgically remove the parts of the brain.

Congratulations on your success. I'm just three months out and down 53. I look forward to when I can talk about being 11 months out and looking as good as you do.

They tell us in our classes that we need to be doing this for us and that we shouldn't compare ourselves to others as we are all different. Then they tell someone they aren't loosing enough? I don't think so. We have enough stress of the real world telling us we aren't good enough because of our body size. We don't need the professionals doing the same thing.

My date was January 14. SW 314. CW 273. I have to say I've had mostly a very positive experience. Great recovery. No real issues. My main struggle is more with getting my head in line with my tummy. Best part...my food bill has gone down significantly and I've discovered the art of dressing up left overs.

I've also found myself reaching for food for no apparent reason. More and more I find myself trying to reconcile my "head hunger" with real hunger. I think I will always struggle with this knowing some days will be better than others. But I am also only 9 weeks post op and am still learning about my new stomach, which I privately refer to as Tiny Tum.

I recovered better than I thought.
Didn't think I would ever feel hunger and post op five weeks I do.
It hasn't been as easy as I thought it would be.
I've been able to eat food I didn't think I would ever be able to eat again.
Thought my joints and knees wouldn't hurt once I started loosing weight...they do.

I was sleeved on January 14 the and I also found/find it a constant struggle with the head hunger. There are some days that I will go for three or four walks around the block just to make sure I stop eating or don't Overeater. I read the posts a lot here to help me as well. I don't have the answer but I wanted to let you know you're far from alone.

I will be three weeks out on Tuesday and I also have been having lots of gurgling. It's quoted down a bit but still get it right after I eat. I've read that it can happen and should slow down with time.

dlc0963 got a reaction from Nevermore in Pre-Op Cold
My cold has now gone into my chest and I have a horrible cough. I see the surgeon today and I guess I will find out if this will delay the surgery in any way. Fingers crossed no because I don't want to so another two weeks of the liquid diet if you know what I mean.

I am scheduled for Tuesday, January 14th and I have also come down with a nasty cold which was on the heals of food poise ing. I'm very worried that when I see the doctor on Monday he will delay the surgery.
