Carole, I work in insurance and this problem is pretty common. My first recommendation would be to call Aetna. You did your due diligence as the member/patient by selecting a participating (in-network) surgeon and facility. You had no say in the anesthesiologist, so you should not be on the hook for any additional charges (outside of what your charge would have been had they been in-network). You have to be persistent with them, but in the end it should work out in your favor. Feel free to PM me if you would like to discuss further!

I take my Calcium, Multivitamin, Iron and B-12 during the day, using them as Snacks.< /p>

You sound like you're doing great! Are you still having any pain? I'm 3 days post op and not sure when to expect to feel somewhat normal again?

Hi fellow August sleevers! I had my surgery yesterday at 11:45 and was discharged around 2:00 today. Getting in and out of bed has been the hardest! I'm one of the lucky ones that can get fluids down no problem. I hope it stays that way!

Thank you all for the quick replies! Bladder started working in the middle of the night (woohoo!). Very sore today, so I figured all the good stuff wore off by now!

Ok, so its not exactly how it sounds but Friday I will finally become a mom... and it's a boy! I have been trying to adopt for over a year and he is coming to live with me this weekend. After four months of rushed evening visits and having to take him back after a weekend stay, he is finally coming home for good. This was one of the reasons I had the surgery--so that I could be a healthy and active mom. I still have a ways to go, but I feel better than I have in many many years. These last months have been life changing, and the surgery was the best thing I could have ever done for myself!

I understand where you're coming from. Last Sunday night (8/4), I was crying as I put my little boy and little girl to sleep. On Monday morning, I was saying my hail marys and our fathers (like a good catholic). They took me in, and the next thing I knew I was sleeved and saw my smiling wife standing there. You can do this, and your life will be better. It's crazy... I'm only a week out, but I can tell how different I approach food. It's a bit like a weight off my back (or should I say my stomach).
