  1. Hey Lioness813! My surgery is scheduled for December 5th!!! I'm super excited and already tired of waiting. There is a large group of December sleevsters in the December 2013 group. Let me see if I can post a link for you. Hope you come over and join us there.
  2. I think you look fantastic girl! Keep going until you feel comfortable; what everyone else thinks does not matter.
  3. Good for you Serenah!!! You have youth on your side so hopefully your skin will bounce back just fine!
  4. Hey Caligirl3, Fingers crossed that you won't have to wait that long! I can totally relate with you because I have NO patience either.
  5. AWESOME!!!!
  6. Your progress is amazing! Thanks for sharing.
  7. Hi Healthbound- I'll be using my insurance (Kaiser So Cal) for this procedure. My co-pay will be $250.00. Have you narrowed down your surgeons to just a couple? Which doctor does your gut say to pick?
  8. Woo Hoo!!! I'm a VST Addict now!!!! I can now add this to my list of addictions.
  9. I started taking a multivitamin in June and vitamin D (50000IU) prescription weekly in August when my labs came back.
  10. Hi I'm new to this group and my surgery is scheduled for December 5th! I started my journey in May 2013 by asking my PCP for a referral to Kaiser's (Southern CA) Options program. I completed the Options classes (3 months) on 9/26, met with the surgeon on 10/15 and now have my surgery date. I'm excited that there are so many of us already scheduled for December...it does seem too far away.
  11. Hey Sonya139...my surgery twin and Capricorn sister!!! My surgery is one month and 4 days before my birthday!!
  12. Hi My surgery is scheduled for December 5th!!! My doctor does not require a pre-op diet but I'll be doing a self imposed diet from now until surgery...a shake for Breakfast and lunch and a lean + green diet. Thanks AtlantaRed for pointing out this group to me.
  13. And I just noticed we have the same date!
  14. Will do...thanks AtlantaRed!
  15. Hey SkinnyNewBecky! Congratulations on getting approved!!
  16. My surgery has been scheduled for December 5th and I'm ready! I just wish when the doctor said his surgeries were being scheduled 3-4 weeks out that he actually knew what he was talking about. More like 6 weeks out...I had my hopes set on having it in November. The bright side of this is that I'll have the whole month of December off and maybe the first week of January. *fingers crossed* Anyone else have a date in December?
  17. I can't wait to wear something just because I like the style! With no worries about how my body will look from a side angle. I want to wear a leather shift dress and be chic!!!!
  18. You look great! Please share with us what your typical menu consisted of...I want results like that!!!
  19. I'm not sure if ATLGirl is still posting in this thread since it's from 2011 but, I wanted to let you all know there IS a African American Group. Just look under Community and then Social Groups.
  20. You look beautiful and I love your dress!
  21. It's crazy how powerful the brain is!!!!!!
  22. Photo925- If you were accepted into the Options program you qualify for the surgery and are not going to be denied. I hope that helps to put your mind at ease. My journey through the Kaiser process has been pretty straight forward ( see my signature). You should maybe call the Health Education department about upcoming Options classes. Please feel free to message me if you have any other questions.
