  1. Every day is better than the day before. It really does get better very quickly. And remember, sip, sip, sip.
  2. I'm 7 months out and still losing quite a bit of hair. I've been taking Biotin, but I don't think it has helped at all!
  3. 7 months out and I still haven't tried one. Can't think of one good reason to go there!
  4. I had gallstones prior to surgery, but my surgeon believes in leaving it in if it's asymptomatic. I was sleeved 7 months ago and have lost 49 lbs (1 lb to go to meet surgeon's goal) and haven't had any problems. We're all so different...
  5. Definitely not too old! I'm 65 and was sleeved 7 months ago. Best decision ever! Love my sleeve!
  6. hi Lilijo! I am 67 years old 5'4. 212 lbs. I hope to join you at the 135 mark in a few months!Hi Lorainsatx! Good luck with your surgery. Follow your doctor's instructions and you'll do great!
  7. It's such a difficult decision to make, but it's your decision to make. I heard the "you're not big enough" line from everyone, but they didn't see me naked! I was on the small side with a bmi of 34.8, but getting bigger every year. I'm 65 years old, 5'1" and weighed in at 184. 7 months later, I weigh 135 and my bmi is 25.5. I thank God everyday for this wonderful gift that has made me a healthier and happier person. Good luck to you.
  8. I am 65 and was sleeved 7 months ago. I couldn't be happier with my decision and the results!
  9. Dr. James Davidson at Presbyterian Hospital did my surgery in October. He is a wonderful surgeon and I haven't had any problems.
  10. Hi Rockwall. Royse City here. Insurance wouldn't cover my surgery, so I had to self pay. Had my surgery in October and couldn't be happier. Good luck to you. Follow your doctor's orders, and you'll be fine.
  11. We'll stated. I'll take the wrinkles and loose skin over obesity any day! I love my sleeve and my new lifestyle!
  12. Welcome amayzme! I will be 65 in a few weeks and had my sleeve surgery 3 months ago. I started at 184 and now weigh 146. I love my sleeve!
  13. 20 days out and no problems at all. I don't have my energy back, but it will come. Recovery has been slowed by a very bad gout attack in my foot, but it's getting better. I worried so much about having the surgery and now feel kind of silly. So much easier than I ever hoped. If you follow your doctor 's orders to the letter, you probably won't have any problems. If you don't plan on being compliant, you might want to rethink. Good luck to you.
  14. I did not have a pump and I only asked for pain meds a couple of times. Never took any after leaving the hospital. Pain was minimal.
  15. I'm planning (hoping) to travel to Paris and Barcelona exactly two months post op. I am going to have to work really hard to get my stamina back up in 6 weeks, but I'm going to give it all I got! At least we won't have to spend as much on food. Go for it! You'll have a great time!
  16. I am two weeks post op and have lost 15 lbs since surgery. I have no regrets so far. I won't lie, there were times in the first 24 hours when I kind of wondered if I had done the right thing. That passed and I haven't looked back. I can't believe how good I feel.
  17. Wow! You are doing a great job!
  18. I too believe in the power of prayer. When I was having doubts about surgery, I put it all in prayer and asked for His guidance. Everything worked out and I had my surgery on Oct. 11. Before my surgery, my surgeon stopped in to see me and asked if it would be okay if he prayed with me. I went into the OR knowing I was doing the right thing at the right place and with the right surgeon. God is good. We are so blessed.
  19. Congratulations on taking control of your life. I'm only two weeks out, but I am convinced it's the best thing I've ever done for myself. Good luck and let us know how you're doing.
  20. 15 lbs in two weeks. Love my sleeve!
  21. Congrats, akusah. I'm 64 and two weeks post op. My doc found I had a hiatal hernia too. My recovery has been amazing. Once you get past the first few days, it just gets better and better. Good luck!
